Team Josh!

If you are a Hunger Games fan, you will probably recognize Josh Hutcherson. He plays Peeta in the new movie based on the best selling books. The nineteen year old has been acting since 2002 and has some impressive roles under his belt. He’s been in movies like American Splendor, Zathura, Bridge to Terabitha, The Vampires Assistant, and The Kids are Alright. In addition to Catching Fire the sequel to The Hunger Games, Josh has upcoming roles in Red Dawn and 7 Days in Havana. Josh is just as exceptional in his personal life as he is in his professional one. He bakes, he knows his shoes and he just adopted a Pit Bull puppy.

“I really love women’s shoes- I think they're very sexy. So whenever I go into Bloomingdale's, I head to the women's shoe section and think, Hmm, maybe I'll get my next girlfriend a pair of those.” Hutcherson told InStyle magazine. “I always buy my mom Louboutin’s or Jimmy Choo’s for her birthday. I have a pretty good sense of style, all in all. Once I figure out a woman, I know what she should wear - which comes in handy when you have a mom and girlfriends. You can always make them happy with a nice bag or a pair of pumps.”

Maybe designer fashion isn’t your thing, there’s much more to love about Josh. He just adopted an adorable three month old Pit Bull, which he named Driver. Driver and Hutcherson found each other when rescue group Hands Paws Hearts pulled the dog out of a municipal Los Angeles County shelter. The puppy, who has two missing toes, had been dropped off as a stray.

On the same day Rose went to pick up Driver from the shelter, she got a call from a friend of a friend – who turned out to be Hutcherson. The actor had been looking for a pit bull, and "he wanted a rescue dog, that was a priority."
Just to wrap up an exceptionally nice package, Josh, a native of Kentucky who has retained his southern charm, rides a Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight. It's a new model designed to look like an old-school '60s one with a metallic midnight-blue tank on it that has the outline of Kentucky on the side.

When asked about falling in love, Josh says, “I'd rather have loved and than lost than not loved at all. So when I'm in a relationship, I'm very "I love you, I love you, I love you!"

Anna Paquin is expecting...

True Blood co-stars and real life husband and wife, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin have announced they are expecting a child together. Stephen has a 2 children from previous relationships and this will be Anna's first.

The couple have been married for nearly 2 years and play the vampire King of Mississippi, Bill Compton, and the not so helpless telepath human, Sookie Stackhouse, in HBO's hit series True Blood. I imagine they are grateful for the short shooting season that True Blood has and we wonder if they will have to work something into the storyline, considering Sookie's wardrobe style does not tend to leave much to the imagination.

Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles - dead or alive.

Rowling stated, "For a long time I have been promising an encyclopaedia of Harry's world, and I have started work on this now - some of it forms the new content in Pottermore. It is likely to be a time-consuming job, but when finished I shall donate all royalties to charity."

In response to the possibility of another novel in the Harry Potter series, Rowling stated that she "always refused to say 'never' to this question." And said, "I think it would be foolish to rule out something I might want to do in a few years' time. However, I have no immediate plans to write another Harry Potter novel, and I do think that I have rounded off Harry's story in the seven published books."

Tom Felton Joins END7 to Fight Tropical Diseases

When I first read the article by the Sabine Vaccine Institute I wanted to say something like “Draco devastates tropical diseases!”  It may be a catchy phrase but I have to respect the message that actor Tom Felton is trying to convey by becoming an ambassador for END7.

“I was inspired to support the END7 campaign when I learned how easy it was for young people to get involved,” said Felton. “By donating just a few pence, anyone can help get these treatments to people who need them most and hopefully change the future for the millions of children growing up in developing countries around the world.” ~Tom Felton

These diseases, aggravated by poverty, affect approximately 500 million children.  In fact, they affect one in six people worldwide so not only children, but also those who care for them.

For just 50 pence (around $45 dollars) one person can be protected from all seven major NTDs for a year.  Pharmaceutical companies provide help in the form of donated meds and the local infrastructure (schools, community centers, and the like) are used to administer the treatments making this a cost-effective and easy to implement program.   It’s is wonderful when something so easily and cheaply executed can help so many people.
Tom Felton, who became an Ambassador for the cause, is going to be reaching out to the public and spreading the word, trying to get others involved.

Important information -

NTDs are a group of 17 parasitic and bacterial infections that are the most common afflictions of the world's poorest people. The Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases focuses on the seven most common NTDs that account for 90 percent of the disease burden.  They disable and disfigure their victims, trapping them in disease and poverty.

The Sabin Vaccine Institute is a non-profit organization of scientists, researchers and advocates dedicated to reducing suffering caused by vaccine-preventable diseases. Since its founding in 1993 in honor of the oral polio vaccine developer, Dr. Albert B. Sabin, the Institute has been at the forefront of efforts to control, treat and eliminate these preventable diseases. For more information please visit www.sabin.org

END7 was launched in January of 2012 and seeks to gather support for NTD control efforts to ask political leaders and philanthropists to increase funding for this global health issue. END7 works with global partners such as the World Health Organization and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.   In addition they use social media to raise not only funds but awareness.

How to learn more or join the END7 campaign, please visit END7 on Facebook or follow @END_7 on Twitter for more information.

2. California – I would have said northern, but I like San Diego too.
3. I love New York. What? I really do.

Favorite thing about being a part of AOD: It’s like a treasure hunt. I can’t stand to think I am missing out on anything. AOD lets me explore and discover, so nothing wonderful gets by me.

If you could be any flavor jelly belly (jelly bean), what flavor would you be and why? Strawberry Cheesecake – I’m sweet, but there is more to me under the surface. Let’s face it, I can be sort of cheesy too, not that there’s anything wrong with that. I’d like to be a cheesecake-y pinup.

Aaron Carter Extends His Time in The Fantasticks

It would appear that  New York City can not get enough of Aaron Carter. Carter, who has been playing Matt in the off-Broadway musical The Fantasticks, has just extended his stay in the city with a new round of performances. Carter originally started performing in The Fantastick at the beginning of November in 2011. He was set to end his time with them as of the end of January, at which time he extended until April 22nd. With that date fast approaching, Carter has now extended his performances through July 22nd.

In a statement made, Carters says "I'm thrilled to extend my run in The Fantasticks and I'm looking forward to spending the summer in New York performing."

While he has been performing, Carter has also made time for his music career. At the end of March, Carter tweeted "Great start to the new year: NEW album! NEW me! Get ready folks!!" Carter has also been tweeting pictures of himself in the studio with different producers and other musicians. He has made time for concerts in areas surrounding the big apple and seems to be working just as hard on his music as he is on his performance with The Fantasticks. How he juggles it all, we will never know. But we are not complaining!

Aaron Carter is constantly on twitter tweeting with his fans, posting pictures, and keeping everyone up to date on his fast moving and quickly growing career. You can catch him on Best Ink on the Oxygen channel tonight (April 10th) at 10 pm EST as a guest judge. If you are unaware of the happenings that are Aaron Carter, you must be living under a rock. We can't wait to see what else he has up his sleeve and we'll definitely be watching as he works his way to the top.

INTERVIEW: Alexander Ludwig Talks The Hunger Games

Alexander Ludwig, who plays the slightly psychotic,  power hungry, and drop dead gorgeous Cato in the blockbuster movie The Hunger Games, did a virtual sit down with Artists On Demand to talk about his role, his music, and how he feels about the fandom that has grown with this movie.

The Hunger Games was released a few weeks ago. What has the fans reactions been like?

The reaction has been incredible. The entire cast feels honoured to have such loyal, dedicated fans.

The movie came in at #4 best opening weekends just behind The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 2, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. It even beat out New Moon. How does it feel to be a part of something so big?

We are all really proud of the reaction to this movie, and we feel genuinely moved by the positive results. We never gave this any thought when we were filming in North Carolina – we were just focussed on giving our best performance - so in all honesty, the box office success has come as a huge surprise to all of us.

What was the feeling like when you heard you were cast as Cato? Had you read the books and understood the importance of your character in this first movie?

I was ecstatic when Gary offered me the part of Cato. I had never played a villain before and I welcomed the opportunity to get inside the head of someone so twisted. I had read the books and I realized that Cato played a key role throughout the movie and especially in the climax of the final scene.

Did you have to undergo any special physical training for The Hunger Games?

I trained extensively for this role, bulking up by nearly 30-40 pounds. We worked with specially trained navy seals who transformed us into fighting form.

Your character was quite an important part in this first movie. Cato was the guy to beat. How much preparation did you do in order to build up this role and kind of make him your own?

I spent a lot of time talking to Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins about their vision for Cato. I wanted to honour the story while still making him my own creation. In the end, Cato became a melting pot of all of our ideas and concepts. I was really happy that I was given the opportunity to show Cato’s development, character arch and journey.

The final scene with Cato was a bit emotional in our opinion. It was as if he finally realized that his district thought he was no good for anything but this battle and he didn’t appear to be ok with that. What was it like filming that scene?

The final scene was awesome to film. I wanted to become lost in Cato’s dementia, and to feel his moment of realization – that he was merely a pawn in a psychotic game.

Were you able to get any souvenirs from the set or were they pretty strict on that?

I have the best memories of one of the most inspiring summers of my life – that is my souvenir.

You recently attended the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, if we are correct? What was that like being surrounded by some of the biggest fans? The atmosphere is intense!

The fans are fantastic and I feel truly honoured when they support me. The KC awards were a lot of fun and it was great to see some of my Hunger Games cast mates. I miss everyone so much.

Switching gears real quick, your first single ‘Liv it Up (Teenage Wasteland)’ has debuted on iTunes. Is it available worldwide and are you looking to release an album any time soon?

Yes, Liv it Up is available worldwide and is currently being played on Italian Radio. I do hope to release an album in the future.

Any chances of a music video for this single?

I want to make a music video – definitely - just haven’t had time. Hopefully I can complete that this summer.

Do you have any new projects coming up or any public appearances that you want fans to know about?

I am meeting tons of producers and directors right now, and I am searching for my next project. I will keep you posted.

Thank you so much for your time and we’ll be keeping an eye on your career! Good luck!

Thank you so much. It was great talkin to you…

peace.
