Contrary to popular belief, the cast and crew of a film can determine who takes part in their project. I reported earlier this week tha Mel Gibson would be making a cameo appearance in "The Hangover 2;" however, the cast and crew made it known to the director, Todd Phillips, that they did not want him to take part in the film. Even though Phillips was given the go ahead to hire Gibson by the studio, he did not have the support of his cast and crew. Any good director knows that if you don't have the support of your cast and crew, your movie will not turn out the way that it should.
There was no reason given as to why the cast and crew said "No," but there are plenty of reasons to choose from. Whether it was because of the allegation of domestic abuse or his drunken lunatic ravings, he will no longer be taking part in the project.
