One Tree Hill Recap 10/19

The opening song was performed by Laura Izibor this week.

Quinn is a having a nightmare where everyone in her life is a zombie except for Brooke and Julian, who are zombie fighters. She only wakes up after "Jaime" lunges at her. Once she is awake, she goes over to check on the gun that she bought. Chuck scares Hayley by wearing a creepy clown mask. She admits that she hates clowns. Tonight is the first Bobcats game of the season, and Nate is not sure how he feels about not playing. It appears that things are back on with Mouth and Millie. Mia is trying to be friends with Chase, but when she tries to talk to him about Alex, he gets all defensive and tells her not to bother trying to act upset.

Julian's mom makes a surprise visit, and Brooke doesn't realize its her when she answers the door and calls her old. Nate and Clay are working out together, and when Nate tries to push Clay harder, Clay says "Surviving a gunshot is the ultimate trump card." Clay then takes things to a different level when he asks Nathan to talk to a possible client and to point him in Clay's direction.

Quinn tells Clay that she isn't comfortable having random strangers on their doorstep after what happened with Katie. She doesn't want to participate in Halloween, but Clay convinces her that this is something that they need. They can't keep living in fear. Clay tells Quinn that she should take the assignment in South Africa so she can get away from it all and clear her mind. She needs to get back to doing what she loves. She tells him that they will talk about it more later on, and they decide to dress up for the trick or treaters. Clay dresses up as Edward Cullen (EPIC) and Quinn dresses up as Super Quinn. When all is said and done, Clay finds the gun that Quinn bought and tells her again that she needs to clear her head. He tells her that her camera is what is going to save her, not the gun.

Julian and his mom sit down to talk, and when Julian asks Sylvia what she thinks of Brooke, she tells him that Brooke is a nice girl; but she seems a little high maintenance considering the fact that she just lost her company. Brooke meets up with them, and she brings her wedding book with her so she can bond with Sylvia over wedding details. Sylvia wants to change a few of the details, but she offers to pay for the wedding in light of all that has recently happened. She welcomes Brooke to the family. Later on that night, Brooke goes over to talk to Sylvia some more about the wedding, and discovers that Sylvia wants to change everything about the wedding. She is paying for it, so she feels that she can have a say over what is done.

Nathan is taking Jaime and his friends Trick or Treating, and the kids decided to dress up as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Grainger. While they are out trick or treating, Chuck knocks on the door of the scariest house in the neighborhood, because Jaime is too scared...for good reason. A guy with a scary mask on answers the door and snatches Chuck inside. It turns out it was Chuck's uncle and the whole thing was just a practical joke. At one point during the night, Nathan is approached by a fan that asks him if he is regretting his choice to retire, and when he looks up and sees the giant smile on his son's face; it is clear to him that he made the right choice, and he tells the fan as much.

Julian tells Brooke that he hates Halloween, so Brooke decides that she is going to go easy on him for his costume. All he has to do is wear a clock around his neck, and she is going to dress up like an orange...as in "A Clockwork Orange. When she comes home to give him his costume, she sees that he is already in costume. He is dressed up as a dalmation puppy, and Sylvia is dressed up as Cruella De Ville. This is why he hates to dress up for Halloween.

The Halloween party at TRIC is in full swing, and everyone is in costume. Mia is dressed as a mermaid, Hayley is a pregnant teen (aka herself in high school), Nathan is a gangster, Millie is Lady GaGa, Mouth is a guy with a six pac, and poor Brooke is dressed up as an orange. During the party, we discover that Julian cannot high five for his life, and this is a great source of enjoyment for Mouth, Chase and Nathan. When Mouth catches up with Millie towards the end of the night, he tells her that he is ready to go; but she is leaving with another guy. She is only going by what Mouth and her discussed earlier. They aren't anything serious. Mouth's facial expression tells us all we need to know about how he feels about this. He is seriously jealous.

The last performer at the party was absolutely fantastic, and when Hayley goes to talk to her about signing her to Red Bedroom Records, she says thank you and leaves. As she leaves, she uses the same salutation that the person Hayley has been talking to on the crisis hotline. They are one and the same, and Hayley puts two and two together and figures it out.
