Franka Potente to join "American Horror Story" Season 2

German film actress Franka Potente star of the German thriller "Lola Rennt" ("Run Lola Run") and two "Bourne" films has been cast in the new season of FX's "American Horror Story."

Potente is said to be playing a "mysterious patient of the facility" in two of the second season's episode.

The Emmy-nominated FX series will take place in an East Coast 1960s insane asylum. First season cast Jessica Lange who will play a nun in charge of the facility will return in this new season along with Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Lily Rabe who will all portray new characters.

The new season of "American Horror Story" will premiere in October.
