The first footage from the much awaited "Man of Steel" film starring British actor Henry Cavill ("Immortals") was screened. Following the clip, Warner Bros. released a new teaser poster featuring the shadowed face of the Man of Steel himself in his red and blue attire.
The clip show at the con was said to have featured a darker side of Superman who "won't hold back from beating the crap out of the bad guys."
According to MTV News, the clips included "shots of Smallville and the Kent farmhouse; a teenaged Clark Kent saving a bus full of kids; a bearded Clark walking down a snowy road; a face-to-face conversation between Superman and Jor-El (Russell Crowe); Superman flying, facing off against the military, saving a guy who fell from a building and being led away in handcuffs; Papa Kent (Kevin Costner) telling him the world fears what it doesn't understand; Clark with his entire body on fire; plus, Superman emerging from a bunch of skulls!"
Snyder confirmed that "Man of Steel" is now in postproduction. With Christopher Nolan as one of the producers, "Man of Steel" is set to be released on June 13th, 2013. It also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Antje Traue as Faora, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, and Christopher Meloni as Col. Hardy.
