Robert Pattinson and the Cosmopolis Publicity Tour
Robert Pattinson and David Cronenberg have been very busy this week promoting Cosmopolis. They rang the Wall Street opening bell, Rob has eaten ice cream with Jon Stewart and visited quite a few of the talk shows.
Cosmopolis is a David Cronenberg film, based on the Don DeLillo novel, and it stars Robert Pattinson as Eric Packer. All signs point to this being an dark and interesting film and I can't wait to see it. It's ideas about Wall Street being a different reality than the rest of us live in is very relevant right now. Cronenberg revisits subjects that fascinate him: how the organic and the psychological are inextricably intertwined, society's anxieties and phobias, and letting repressed impulses and paranoia run wild.
Of course there have been a lot of questions about Rob's personal life. He has handled them with bravery and grace. He addressed the media's coverage of him, saying, "I don't talk about that. Loads of people just make it up anyway—it doesn't make any difference."
"Are you OK?" he's asked.
"Yeah" is his bemused, smiling reply.
That's all we need to know.
Cosmopolis opens in theaters this Friday. See the movie, that is what it's really about.
