Kristen Stewart proudly supports film "On The Road" at TIFF
Kristen Stewart looked radiant this weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she and her co-stars promoted the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's 1950's novel, On The Road.
Stewart has been notably absent from the spotlight for some time now, after admitting to having an affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.
She has said there was never a doubt in her mind that she would attend the festival along side co-stars that include Garrett Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst, and film director, Walter Salles. Stating, "We have been waiting for this thing to be unleashed for so long. It was sort of one of those situations where you just have to put yourself in your body and go appreciate the moment."
Stewart stars as Garrett Hedlund's character, Dean's first Wife, Marylou. Speaking of her first experience reading the iconic novel as a high school freshman, she says, "Marylou and Dean are the type of people that I was inspired by. Initially, at 15 reading the book, going, God, these are the sort of people I've got to find. The mad ones. And I am so not one of them, but maybe I could be..."
This weekend's film festival was her first public appearance since splitting with Boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, over her affair. Dealing with being in front of the photographers and TV crews again was daunting for her.
"I was a little nervous, obviously. I'm always nervous before a red carpet," Stewart explained. "To be honest, I was just kind of telling myself, like, just don't black out. Be there, don't just figuratively put your head down and barrel though it. Be there, appreciate it. Luckily, very, very much I was able to do that."
Stewart will face awkward appearances while promoting the final film of the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn-Part 2 with ex, Pattinson in November. Though, she is confident that they will get through the process alright, stating, "We're going to be fine. We're totally fine."
