New sci-fi film "Chronicle"'s new trailer

A trailer for the film "Chronicle" an up-coming science fiction movie told in a 'found footage' format, has been released.

The film is about "[T]hree high school friends [who] gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides."

The film stars Michael B. Jordan (Parenthood,) Dane DeHaan (True Blood,) Michael Kelly, Ashley Hinshaw, and Alex Russell with Max Landis as writer and Josh Trank as director.

The film is set to be released on February 3rd, 2012.

Peter Jackson's hometown to host "The Hobbit" world premiere

Director Peter Jackson recently announced that the first Hobbit film will be premiered at his hometown of Wellington in New Zealand.

Wellington will host the world premiere of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Jackson stated that Warner Bros. decided to have the world premiere party in Wellington after being "blown away" by "The Return of the King" world premiere back in 2003.

The premiere is set to happen in November 2012; after then the first Hobbit film will be released worldwide on December 13th, 2012. The second film titled "The Hobbit: There And Back Again" is set to be released in December of 2013.

"The Comedian" new film by Sean Penn

Up-coming film "The Comedian" starring two-time Academy Award winning actor Robert De Niro and Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) will be directed by Sean Penn (Into The Wild.) The film was picked up by FilmNation Entertainment for international sales according to announcements today.

"The Comedian" is about Jackie Burke (De Niro) who "is a raging comic who is past his prime. A once loved TV character in his hey day, he clings to any recognition of his former fame in the hope of reviving his now stagnant career. After being sentenced to community service for hitting an audience member in the head with his microphone, Jackie meets Harmony (Wiig), a dazzling and defiant redhead who turns his life sideways."
"The Comedian" is written by Art Linson with Jeffrey Ross, produced by Art Linson, John Linson, John Klinik, and Robert De Niro with Shannon Costello as associate producer.

The film is scheduled to start production in Spring of 2012.

New trailer and poster for French horror film "Livid"

French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo who created the horror film "Inside" about a pregnant woman stalked by another woman who wanted the baby inside her are back with another horror film titled "Livid."

"LIVID is a horror fairytale set during Halloween night when three youths decide to burglarize an old lady's desolate house, but what awaits them is no ordinary house..."

"Livid" stars stars Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Chloe Coulloud, and Felix Moati.

This is Maury and Bustillo's second collaboration with Dimension Films who worked with them with their film "Inside."

"Inside" ("À l'intérieur) was released in 2007.

"Livid" ("Livide") is scheduled to be released on November 2nd, 2011.

Jonah Hill takes on new cartoon series "Allen Gregory"

"Superbad" star Jonah Hill is taking on a new cartoon series titled "Allen Gregory."

Hill will be producing the cartoon series with co-creators Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul.

"It's a really funny cartoon show," Hill said to the reporters and go on describing the family in the show as "a bunch of spoiled rich people figuring out how to make their way in the world for the first time."

Hill also said that the 7-year old character Allen Gregory is "a fish out of water just trying to fit in."

The new cartoon inspired by "The Critic," "South Park," and "The Simpsons" will debut on Fox this coming Sunday night alongside "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," and "American Dad."

Adele to undergo surgery; cancels rest of 2011 show

English singer-songwriter Adele will be undergoing a throat surgery due to the continuing problem with her vocal.

The artist's doctor ordered that Adele cancel her future concerts so she can rest fully.

Adele's camp stated, "[Adele won't be] "looking to schedule any work commitments [until she completely recuperates.] We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment caused, and appreciate your understanding during this time."

Adele first encountered her problems with her throat back in January when she "was weakened by a bout of flu from December." The artist did not fully recover and the problem got worse when she suffered hemorrhage. She later on developed a respiratory and chest infection.

"In Living Color" reboot

"In Living Color" the "edgy hit sketch comedy series" by Keenen Ivory is getting a reboot.

The series which launched the career of Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, and Damon Wayans was one of Fox's earlier successes. The series' updated version will air as a two half-hour specials in 2012 (spring) and will be hosted by Keenen Ivory, its executive producer and original creator. The "In Living Color" reboot will cast new actors but we hope to see the old cast to return as well.

"In Living Color" aried on Fox from 1990 to 1994.

Kristin Bauer and Allan Hyde to attend fundraiser in Canada

"True Blood" stars Kristin Bauer and Allan Hyde will be attending a fundraiser tomorrow in Prince George, Canada.

Allan Hyde played the 2000-year old vampire Godric whose progeny was the
Viking and Sheriff of Area 5, Eric Northman who is Pam’s (Kristin Bauer) maker in the HBO's hit series.

Prince George’s Biggest Halloween Bash aims to raise funds beneting the Skylab project "a 1,000 square feet of new space on the adult floor of the Bob Harkins branch, allowing more Internet access, computer stations, a new computer instruction lab, information desk and shelving."

The library fundraiser event will take place at the Ramada Hotel which transform the Ramada Ballroom into a Victorian Gothic-themed dance hall and there will be plenty of prizes.

The bash starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28th at the Ramada Hotel and will end at 1:00 a.m.

Bruce Willis expecting fourth child

56-year old "Die Hard" star Bruce Willis is going to be a father for the fourth time.

Willis and new wife, 35-year old designer and model Emma Heming are said to be expecting for their first child together.

Willis was married to actress Demi Moore with whom he had three beautiful daughters with: Rumer (23), Scout (20), and Tallulah (17.)

Willis and Heming married in 2009, nine years after Willis' divorced with Moore was finalized.

The new trailer for the upcoming action film "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" arrived today:



Tom Cruise who reprises his role as spy Ethan Hunt stars in the film alongside Simon Pegg, Jeremey Renner, Paula Patton, and Michael Nyqvist.

The film's plot evolves around the Impossible Mission Force being framed for a terrorist bombing at the Kremin. The entire team then is sent underground to hiding when the president initiates a ghost protocol. Hunt's team are determined to find who is responsible for the bombing and to bring them to justice.

"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" is scheduled to be released in December 21st nationwide.

Here's the new poster for Brad Bird's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol."

The film which stars Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt) is the fourth installment in the Mission Impossible series.

The film which will be released on December 21st in the United States also stars Ving Rhames, Vladimir Mashkov, Jeremy Renner, and Anil Kapoor.

The first Mission: Impossible film was directed by Brian de Palma and was released in 1996 and the last one was by J.J. Abrams and was released in 2006.

Drama series "Homeland" renewed

Showtime's newest drama "Homeland" starring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Patinkin has been renewed.

The show generated 4.4 million viewers on its first week, making it Showtime's highest-rated freshman drama ever.

"Homeland" is "about a CIA officer who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of a U.S. soldier was a setup and connected to an Al Qaeda terrorist plot."

Showtime Entertainment President David Nevins stated, "Homeland is just getting started. Clearly, the overall growth from week one to week four demonstrates that this show is hitting a nerve in the cultural zeitgeist. Alex and Howard have created a psychological thriller that holds special reverence in the post 9/11 world.”

"Homeland" was ordered 12 new episodes. It airs every Sunday at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.

"Dumb and Dumber" Sequel?

Deadline reported that the 1994 hit comedy "Dumb and Dumber" starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will finally have a sequel!

The Farrelly brothers (Peter and Bobby) who just finished their film "The Three Stooges" were said to have been wanting to create the sequel for "Dumb and Dumber." The writers of the film hoped to bring Carrey and Daniels to reprise their roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dune with the Farrelly once again directing.

"Dumb and Dumber" which was distributed by New Line Cinema had a $16 million budget and grossed $250 million world wide. It was released on December 14th, 1994.

Z100 Jingle Ball Concert Lineup

The radio station Z100 announced on Friday the lineup for their upcoming 2011 Jingle Ball Concert with he help of pop star Demi Lovato.

Lovato performed at the Aéropostale store in Times Square as the official Jingle Ball kickoff party. She then joined MTV to promote the upcoming holiday concert.

The big annual event which will take place on December 9th, 2011 at New York City's Madison Square Garden will headline Lady Gaga. Demi Lovato, LMFAO, David Guetta, Pitbull, Kelly Clarkson, Gym Class Heroes, Hot Chelle Rae, and Foster the People were among the artists included in the line up.

Tickets for Z100 Jingle Ball Concert will go on sale on November 1st.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon finally revealed their twins on 20/20 which managed to pull in 7.6 million viewers. After the interview, Carey unveilved the website dembabies.com, which features galleries of the twins photographs.


Cary and Cannon had their twins on April 30th, 2011 on the couple's third wedding anniversary. The fraternal twins were named Monroe Cannon (girl) and Moroccan Scott Cannon (boy.)

Prologue for Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises"

According to FirstShowing's report, "A 6-minute prologue for Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises will be showing in front of IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol this December." Although, the scene is unknown.

This was a repeat of Warner Bro.'s showing a bank robbery scene as prologue to Nolan's "The Dark Knight" in front of "I am Legend" back in late 2007.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is the last in Nolan's Batman trilogy. It stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman. "The Dark Knight Rises" will be released on July 20th.

"Wichita": Alan Ball's new HBO project

"True Blood" creator Alan Ball is reported to be working on a new project for HBO.

Ball is set to be the executive produced for a developing project titled "Wichita." It is an hour long drama Ball is working on with author Devin Friedman who wrote the 2010 GQ article "Savior vs. Savior." Ball is producing the drama alongside Jimmy Miller.

"Wichita" is "about a Kansas surgeon who inadvertently becomes the focal point of a contemporary political, cultural and ethical war."

The project will be Ball's third with HBO.

Here's the first trailer for Angelina Jolie's "In the Land of Blood and Honey."

The film which is Jolie's directorial debut focuses on "the love between a Muslim woman and a Serbian soldier during the Bosnian war in the mid-90's." It stars Goran Kostić, Zana Marjanović, and Rade Šerbedžija. Shot in two versions, English and Serbo-Croatian, the film was shot in October 2010. It is due to be released in the United States on December 23rd, 2011.

Ben Affleck to direct "The Stand" remake

Deadline reported today that Warner Bros. are in the talks of hiring actor/director Ben Affleck to direct an adaptation of Stephen King's "The Stand."

Affleck directed the films "Gone Baby Gone" in 2007 starring his brother Casey Affleck and "The Town" in 2010 which he starred in.

"The Stand" was adapted into a TV miniseries in 1994 and was directed by Mick Garris. It starred Gary Sinise, Miguel Ferre, Rob Lowe, and Molly Ringwald.

Project Save Our Surf

The fourth annual Project Save Our Surf event took place this past weekend on the beach of Santa Monica. The celebrity surfathon benefited Santa Monica Baykeeper, Waves for Water, Inside the Outdoors and Tumelo Home. Artists on Demand was invited to attend day two of this amazing event.

Celebrity surfers in attendance on Sunday were John Slattery from Mad Men, Tate Donovan from Damages, Gregory Harrison from One Tree Hill, Michael Munoz from Amazing Race and Peter Brinkerhoff, a Daytime Emmy winning director. Although the Celebrity Surfing Session started late by 15 minutes, the judges cut no time off their overall time in the water. The competition took place for 45 minutes, judging on a scale from 1 to 10 on degree of difficulty, progressive maneuvers, long boarding style and short boarding style. If you think the judges were starstruck and ranked their favorite celebrities higher, think again! The judges had no idea who was in the water! The celebrities were each dressed in a specific neon colored shirt with a number on their back and the judges referred to them as so. The conditions were challenging with short, fast waves. These were definitely not beginner conditions, but then again, these celebrities have had some experience in the water. Many stars have a history of surfing as a pastime and a source of exercise. That relation to the water is one of the many reasons they show up to support such a great event. They were asked to raise and/or donate money for the cause and they gladly pulled through!

Locals were encouraged to attend the event and watch the Pro Surfer and Celebrity Surfing Sessions. The many people in attendance also enjoyed live music, mural painting and eco-friendly exhibits to name a few. Ocean Force Foundation had a booth informing people of ocean-related issues. At 1pm they hosted an impromptu beach cleanup. Many SOS volunteers, surfers and people in attendance participated in the cleanup. Everyone involved in this event had such a passion to keep our oceans clean and people walked away with a strong sense of awareness to ocean threats. We can't wait to attend Project Save Our Surf next year and we encourage you to become involved!

Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" gets a release date

Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" has now a release date. Warner Bros. sets the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio to be released in theaters on December 25th, 2012.

Another film set to be released on the same day is Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" which also stars DiCaprio.

Luhrmann directed one of the films that launched Leonardo DiCaprio's career- "William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet" with Claire Danes.

The upcoming adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel will also star Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Elizabeth Debicki, Jason Clarke, Brendan Maclean, Cllan McAuliffe, and Amitabh Bachchan.

Artistic Analogies Film Co.'s Kevin M. Slee works on "The Thing" prequel

Kevin M. Slee, director/producer and Laguna Niguel native had been busy since the last time we caught up with him.

With his film production company Artistic Analogies Film Co., he worked on short films such as "The Secret Life of Jonathan Sky," and Matthew Anderson's "Franky, Frankly" which stars Mikandrew Perdaris, Bella Dayne, and "True Blood"'s Allan Hyde.

This time Slee, 21, embarked on working on the prequel of the classic horror "The Thing." Slee worked alongside producer David Foster who also produced the original film back in 1982. Slee began as Foster's assistant which progressed to a creative executive role in Foster's company over the year.

In an interview with LagunaNiguelPatch, Slee stated that the prequel, "The Thing" has some "real substance." He added, "It's not a horror film that relies on gore but one that relies more on the tension of the characters. Most of the horror films today seem to be missing character development and we never get to know the characters. This film is different."

Slee worked on the "The Thing" last summer and attended its premiere last week in Hollywood. He stated that ""The Thing" is the first studio feature I had a part in and it's pretty exciting," he said."It was cool to go back to a film that is 30 years old that David produced in 1982 that starred Kurt Russell and do a prequel that has a budget of $35 million. Most of the features that I have worked on have been independent films with budgets closer to $300,000."

Slee, a Film Production and Political Science major at the Chapman University has great projects lined up including a remake of the film "Short Circuit." He is also working with Bryan Singer's (director "The Usual Suspects," "X-Men") company, Bad Hat Harry Productions, the same company that brought TV shows like "House" on Fox.

"The Thing" was produced by Universal Studios and David Foster and directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. It stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eric Christian Olsen, Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ulrich Thomsen, Kim Bubbs, Trond Espen Seim, Stig Henrik Hoff, Jonathan Walker, and Carsten Bjørnlund.

"The Thing" is currently out in theaters.

Multi-award winning Canadian artist Michael Bublé recorded the song "White Christmas" with Shania Twain for his upcoming holiday album titled "Christmas."

Shannen Doherty tied the knot!

Shannen Doherty ("Beverly Hills 90210" and "Charmed") tied the knot with her fiancé Kurt Iswarienko on Saturday.

People reported that the couple wed at the sunset in a private estate in the hills of Malibu.

According to the reports, the couple's nuptial will be airing on the season finale of Doherty and Iswarienko's upcoming WEtv reality series which is about planning for the big event.

Carey and Canon ready to reveal their babies

Couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon had their twins Moroccan and Monroe in April. Six months passed and fans of the couple everywhere continued to wonder when are they going to see the babies' photos.

Wait no more! Early Saturday morning, Carey wrote on her Twitter account the following message:

“Tune in to the exclusive 20/20 interview with Mariah, Nick & #DemBabies for the first time! Airing October 21 at 10:00pm @ ABC (MC.com).”

Considering the twins' age and what they can do now, it would be a lively interview!

Coffee for Charity: Hugh Jackman launches coffee brand

Australian actor Hugh Jackman (X-Men) was said to have been affected by his visit in Ethiopia that the actor planned to release a campaign unlike any other.

Jackman who stated "he met a man who changed the way he looked at the world" has been launching his own brand of coffee. He stated that the man he met, Dukale is a coffee farmer and that he and Dukale had planted coffee trees together. "I began to see the potential for one man’s hard work to transform an entire community," Jackman added.

Jackman whose coffee brand is called "The Laughing Man" will be giving the profits of the brand to charity.

Tea and chocolate will also be produced under "The Laughing Man" brand.

New "Phantom of the Menace" poster

"Star Wars: Episode 1 - Phantom of the Menace" has a new poster that's been recently unveiled.


"Phantom of the Menace," the first chronological film in George Lucas' Star Wars franchise was released in 1999. It will be re-released on February 10th, 2012 in 3D just like the other Star Wars film. "Phantom of the Menace" stars Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman.

"The Woman in Black" UK trailer

The UK trailer for Daniel Radcliffe's upcoming film, "The Woman in Black" had been released.

"The Woman in Black" is based on the classic ghost story of the same title by British author Susan Hill tells the story of the lawyer named Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe) who was forced to leave his son to attend to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of the Eel Marsh House in a remote village.

"The Woman in Black" is scheduled to be released on February 3rd, 2012 in the US and February 10th, 2012 in the UK.

"The Kids Are All Right": From big screen to HBO series

The 2010 Oscar-nominated film "The Kids Are All Right" is no longer just a movie but an hour-long series that is being developed at HBO.

The movie about two lesbian couples and their children who met their biological father was starred by Annette Bening, Julianne Moor, Josh Hutcherson, Mila Wasikowska, and Mark Ruffalo. The actors, doubtly will reprise their roles in the series adaptation of the film.

The series' pilot episode which aims to explore the entertwining lives of the five main characters will be written by the films co-writer and director, Lisa Cholodenko. She will also be one of the executive producers of the film.

"The Walking Dead" season 2 sneak peek

If you're a fan of AMC's series "The Walking Dead," then you must be getting ready to see band of living walking amongst the dead this coming Sunday.

And as a preparation for the series' return, AMC had released a sneak peek of season two's first episode title "What Lies Ahead."

According to DreadCentral, in the second season of the series, "the survivors arrive at Hershel's Farm, where we will meet Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson), a vet (as in a veterinarian); his daughter, Maggie (Lauren Cohan); and Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince), the middle-aged ranch foreman who’s such a sweetheart that he all but loses it when he accidentally shoots a fellow survivor."

Season two of "The Walking Dead" will premiere at 9 p.m. EST on AMC on October 16th.

Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. reprise their role as John Watson and Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie's second Sherlock film titled "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows."

"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" will be released in theaters on December 16th, 2011.

Ex-Weezer Bassist Dead at 40

Ex-Weezer bassist, Mikey Welsh was found dead in his Chicago hotel room on Sunday morning. The hotel staff at the Rafaello Hotel in Chicago found the artists after he failed to check out of his hotel room. He was 40.

The strange and eery part of this story is that Welsh had semi-predicted his own death weeks early on twitter. He had posted "dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today." His band mates from Weezer posted on Welsh's Twitter page stating, "We are deeply saddened to announce that Mikey Welsh passed away unexpectedly today. He will forever be remembered as an amazing father, artists, and friend. May he rest in peace."

This marks another sad day in the music world as we lose another great musician.

MTV Joins the Digital Drama Fight with DISconnected

Celebrities, networks, and organizations are joining the fight to stop digital drama. A few months back ABC Family released Cyberbully, a movie that showcased the effects of cyber bulling and digital drama. ABC Family had joined ranks with Seventeen Magazine to put an end to the violence.

MTV premieres an original movie tonight at 9 pm EST called 'DISconnected' to join the fight to put an end to digital drama.

Here is quick synopsis of what you can expect from the original MTV movie:
"DISconnected" tells the story of four young people in living in different cities who know each other through a live streaming site. Isaiah is a big presence on the site, but has trouble relating to his girlfriend Nikki when they're together. Lisa's attraction to her boyfriend Jack -- who she met online -- heats up as she makes plans to meet up with him. Maria's constant texting of her boyfriend John ignites a break-up feud that extends to their friends and profiles. Tom refuses to reveal his identity when he posts his music online, but antagonizes others from the safety of his bedroom laptop. All of them are dealing with digital drama that complicates their loves, friendships and lives. One night, it all spins out of control.

"Titanic" mini-series trailer

No, it's not James Cameron's "Titanic" but watching the trailer, it looks as dramatic and interesting.

"Titanic" is an up-coming British-Canadian-Hungarian mini-series from BAFTA-award winning producer Nigel Stafford-Clark ("Bleak House," "The Passion.")

It will ain on ITV1 in spring of 2012. Glen Bishop, Ruth Bradley, and Glen Blackhall are among the stars featured in the mini-series.

John Lennon: A birthday tribute

Today is the iconic and former-Beatles member John Lennon's birthday. He would have been 71-years old if he had lived.

In celebration of Lennon's birthday, Yoko Ono, Lennon's wife, re-lit the Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavik, Iceland at 4 p.m. (Iceland time.)

The Imagine Peace Tower is a "tall tower of light," and considered a work of art. It is projected from a white stone with "Image Peace" carved in it in 24 languages.

Ono had live-streamed the lighting of the tower which was viewed live at EartCam.

Michael Jackson Forever tribute concert

Stars and family attends the Michael Jackson Forever tribute concert in Wales this weekend.


Including the late King of Pop's children, Christina Aguilera, Jamie Foxx, Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, and Ne-Yo paid tribute to the late artist by performing Jackson's hits.






Jackson passed away in 2009. He was 50-years old.
