The Ian Somerhalder Foundation held it's first event on Saturday, October 29, in Atlanta, GA. The event was held at Opera Nightclub. The host for the evening was Andrew Medlin, and he was pretty darn awesome, if I may say so.
The event began with a Q & A with Ian, dressed as none other than Captain Planet, using questions that had been emailed prior to the event. I also want to make sure that you are all aware of the fact that, despite a torn ACL, Ian was there with nothing but smiles. The questions ranged from "What do you do to make the world a better place," to "If you could go anywhere in time, where would you go?" In my opinion, the best question of the night was "What do YOU find sexy?" The answer that we got from Ian was not what one would normally expect. It had nothing to do with looks, but rather who we all are as people. He finds women that are confident in who they are and what they believe in to be the sexiest thing we have to offer. I also learned that one of the other major goals of ISF is to change the world's outlook on what we define as "sexy".
After the Q & A ended, the audience was presented with some pretty astonishing entertainment. There was a dance troupe as well as a number of aerial gymnasts. To say that these two groups of entertainers were good at what they did would be a massive understatement. The dancers were on point and energetic, while the gymnasts were absolutely breath taking. The stunts that they performed were both elegant, as well as what some may call rather dangerous.
After about 30 minutes of watching the entertainers, an announcement was made for the VIP ticket holders to make their way out to the Cabana. It was there that we were all greeted with a gorgeous spread of food. There was something there for everyone. While everyone was mingling, we were surprised with the appearances of a number of cast members of Ian's from The Vampire Diaries. Nina Dobrev was there dressed as Hermoine, Kat Graham was there as Snooki, Candace Accola was a toddler from "Toddlers and Tiaras", Zach was dressed as her stage dad, and Daniel Gillies had skin "missing" from his face.
The last thing we got to do at the event was get the gift bag of "Ian's Favorite Things," which consisted of
Kor water bottle
Two packs of seaweed snacks
Vling earrings made from old records
Toothbrush made of recycled yogurt cups

Overall the event was a great success, and it is only the beginning for this fabulous charity. Stephanie could not have been a better host, and I can't wait to see what ISF has in store for us in the future!
