Like Crazy Movie Review

Paramount Pictures gave Artists on Demand two tickets to the Like Crazy screening to give away to our listeners. We asked for them to tell us what it was they loved about Paramount. Our winner stated "Paramount has been knocking out really good movies, including Paranormal Activity 3 and Footloose" and we couldn't agree more. That’s why going to the see Like Crazy was a no-brainer. As soon as the movie started, I already knew it was going to be fantastic. When I saw the trailer though, I thought it was going to be a dramatic love story about finding love and having it taken away for some reason; something we’ve all seen before. However, it was surprisingly original. It constantly tears at your heart strings while still being quirky and witty at the same time.

You will fall in love with the characters within minutes. The acting was, of course, phenomenal. It’s no surprise the adorable Felicity Jones got ‘Best Actress’ at Sundance. She was simply gorgeous and portrayed her emotions beautifully on screen. Co-starring alongside Felicity was Anton Yelchin, who is best known for his roles in Alpha Dog (2006), Charlie Bartlett (2007) and of course his most recent release, Fright Night (2011). He truly proved to be an extraordinary actor (not that we didn’t know that already) by creating wonderful chemistry with Jones and illustrating perfectly the emotional rollercoaster his character, Jacob, was experiencing. Supporting actress, Jennifer Lawrence, is stunning and had no problem showing she can perfectly execute any role she’s given. Then, there’s Charlie Bewley, mostly known for his role as a Volturi guard in the Twilight Saga films. He plays the ultimately perfect “guy next door” that you wouldn’t mind asking for a cup of sugar from every once in a while… or once a day.

Like Crazy is a refreshing take on a love story-- no raunchy, dirty love scenes -- just a tender, pure & ultimately charming account of two young people falling in love; because, above all, it’s a love story. And a damn good one at that. You shouldn't go in there expecting a romantic comedy or a dialogue driven production. Yes, there is humor, but it's a story about these ordinary people, Anna and Jacob, who just so happen to fall in love and go through a few speed bumps before realizing their absolute NEED to be with each other... All you need to know is that this movie is a must see and I loved it-- LIKE CRAZY!
