"American Horror Story" star Kate Mara is set to star alongside Kevin Spacey in a David Fincher's "House of Cards," Nextflix's first series.The project which is an adaptation of the British series of the same title, is based on Michael Dobbs' book. It is "political thriller centered around the scheming Francis Urquhart, Chief Whip of the Conservative party, who plots to unseat the current Prime Minister and ensure his own election as party leader thus making himself Prime Minister. A young female reporter gets close to the story and to Urquhart himself, risking her integrity and soul."
In Fincher's American adaptation, Spacey will be playing Frank Underwood, the series' male protagonist with Robin Wright as Underwood's wife.
Mara will be taking on Zoe Barnes, "the young reporte who becomes caught in Underwood's web."
Mara who is the 28-year old sister of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" star Rooney Mara, portrayed a scorned woman in "American Horror Story."
