Chris Brown Will Not be Charged Over Stolen Phone
When Christal Spann went to a Miami club in February last year, she probably didn't expect to see Chris Brown. So she did what many other people would do and took out her phone to try and get some photos. What she probably also didn't expect was that Brown would snatch her phone through a car window as he left.
On Friday, however, the Miami-Dade State Attorney concluded that an investigation into the incident failed to produce enough evidence to continue pursuing criminal charges against the singer. Brown is likely to be thankful that this is how the situation turned out, because if he had been charged, it would have been a parole violation.
Spann claims that the singer reached through the window and took the phone from her hands. A police report at the time shows that Brown was cited for “robbery by sudden snatching,” but for Brown to have been prosecuted on the charges, authorities would have been able to prove the Brown did steal the phone or that he tried to forcibly delete the photos from the phone.
However, authorities haven't been able to do this, saving Brown from a possible prosecution and, therefore, a violation of parole.
What do you think of the situation? Do you think this is the right choice?
