Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard Granted Divorce
Following the November announcement that they were separating, Zooey Deschanel and her husband Ben Gibbard have been granted a divorce by the Los Angeles Superior Court.
But rather than letting the end of the relationship get to her, the New Girl actress put herself back on the market fairly quickly, where it appears she was snapped up by screenwriter Jamie Linden.
Deschanel and Linden have been spotted out and about, sharing in a PDA in LA back in August and strolling around hand-in-hand in New York last month.
What do you think about Zooey's new relationship? Do you think there is a need for a "cooling off" period or is it ok to get involved in a new relationship before a divorce is finalised?

The premiere of "Django Unchained" has been canceled in the wake of last week's school shooting in Newtown, Conn., the film's studio said Monday.
Quentin Tarantino's violent spaghetti Western was scheduled to have its premiere at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences on Tuesday and an after-party at SkyBar (also canceled), according to the Los Angeles Times. A private screening was held for the cast and crew.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the tragedy in Newtown, CT and in this time of national mourning we have decided to forgo our scheduled event. However, we will be holding a private screening for the cast and crew and their friends and families," a spokesperson for The Weinstein Company said in a statement.

"Django Unchained" stars Jamie Foxx as a freed slave-turned-bounty hunter out to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation owner. The cast also includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.
That is a very decent thing to do. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families as well.

Kristen Stewart Auctions Premiere Dress for Hurrican Sandy
Kristen Stewart is doing her bit for charity by auctioning off the dress she wore to the premiere of Breaking Dawn: Part 2. The actress has signed the Zuhair Murad creation and it's now being auctioned online.
The auction was organized to help people whose lives were turned upside down by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. The proceeds from the dress will go to the Robin Hood Foundation, which is helping out with the relief effort.

Amanda Bynes Settles Hit-and-Run and gets Charges Dropped
Actress Amanda Bynes has reached a civil settlement in her hit-and-run case and has also managed to escape the misdemeanor criminal charges she was facing as a result.
Bynes was officially charged back in September and faced jail after she was involved in motor accidents last April and August and reportedly left the scene of those accidents.
On Thurday, however, the actress' attorney told the court that she had come to a financial agreement with the other drivers involved. As such, the judge decided to dismiss the pending misdemeanor charges, despite objections from the prosecutors.
Unfortunately for Bynes, she still does have to face with a DUI case and driving on a suspended license.

Premiere Delayed, TV Episode Cancelled in Sandy Hook Aftermath
As America and the wider international community try to come to terms with the tragic loss of life following the Sandy Hook Shooting in Connecticut yesterday morning, there has already been a reaction by TV show Haven and by the studio behind Tom Cruise's latest movie, Jack Reacher.
In the aftermath of the horror that gunman Adam Lanza unleashed on the elementary school, which killed 27 people, including 20 children, an episode of Haven has been pulled and the Premiere of Jack Reacher has been postponed.
Paramount Pictures has said that "due to the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, and out of honor and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken, we are postponing tomorrow’s Pittsburgh premiere of Jack Reacher."
The film obviously contains some gun violence, as the movie is about a former military police officer who is engaged by a suspected sniper to help prove his innocence. The movie poster also clearly shows Cruise holding a gun by his side.
Syfy, the network behind tv show Haven, has also released a statement about their decision to pull the latest episode, which was scheduled to air at 10pm last night, due to the fact it contained a plot that involved violence in a high school.
"Tonight’s scheduled 10 p.m. episode of Haven contained scenes of fictitious violence in a high school. In light of today’s tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, we have decided not to air it." At this stage, Syfy has made no announcement as to whether this episode will eventually air.
In what is understandably a horrifically trying time for all those involved, we offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and hope the survivors and their families find the love and support they need.

Brooke Mueller Back in Rehab
Brooke Mueller has entered rehab to help battle her drug addiction. Her lawyer, Yale Galanter, confirmed that the former Mrs Charlie Sheen has been admitted to help her ongoing issues with addiction, including those issues related to her use of Adderall.
This comes days after Mueller was taken to an emergency room after an ambulance was called to her California home. Her rep, Steve Honig, later revealed that the situation was not a serious one.
"An assistant thought Brooke was nonresponsive while she was napping and hastily called an ambulance," he said. He continued by saying that she was taken to hospital as a precaution, but was later released after being told she had exhaustion and dehydration. Contrary to recent reports, Mueller's hospitalization was not as a result of a drug overdose, her team has advised.
We wish Brooke well with her recovery!

Adele Faces Fine for Not Registering Her Baby's Birth
When British singer Adele welcomed a baby boy into her life, she probably didn't consider welcoming a £1000 ($1606 USD) fine into her life. But she may have to pay that money for failing to register her little boy's birth.
In the UK, it is a requirement that new parents register the birth of their children within 42 days of the child being born. However, the 24-year-old and her husband, Simon Konecki, have failed to register the arrival of their baby boy within that 42 day deadline.
When parents register their children, they are required to file documentation that includes the place and date of the birth, the sex of the new baby and details of the parents.
We still send our congratulations to the happy couple!

Aussie DJs Break Silence Following Nurse's Death
The Australian DJs at the center of they royal hoax call, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, have broken their silence following the death of nurse Jacintha Saldahna. The radio show hosts gave interviews to two Australian TV shows, "Today Tonight" and "A Current Affair."
Both interviews are very similar and highlight the fact that no one could have seen how far the prank call would have gone or how it could have turned out. The hosts say they are shattered, gutted and heart-broken. Greig says the phone call she received telling her of the tragedy was the "worst phone call I've ever had in my life."
Both hosts were visibly upset, both breaking down during the "A Current Affair" interview (see the video of that interview below) and several times reiterating that their main concern is that Saldahna's family receives the love and support they deserve.
Greig opened up about how this has effected her, saying "there’s not a minute that goes by that we don’t think about their family and what they must be going through." She then went on to share that "the thought that we may have played a part in that is gut-wrenching."
In the wake of the the prank call and Saldahna's death, the owner of the radio station, Southern Cross Austereo has announced that it has cancelled the show, the "Hot 30 Countdown" and has put a company-wide ban on prank calls.

Singer Jenni Rivera Dies in Plane Crash
Singer Jenni Rivera has tragically died in a plane crash at the age of 43. The Mexican-American singer, born Dolores Janney Rivera, was on board with six other people. It is understood those people were two pilots, a cabin crew member and Rivera's publicist, lawyer and makeup artist. The singer had performed in Monterrey on Saturday night (see footage from that concert below) and her plane took off at about 3.30am on Sunday morning.
Traffic controllers then lost contact with the plane about 10 minutes later. A search for the plane ensued and, hours later, the plane wreckage was found in Mexico. Mexican officials said there were no survivors and Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, the Transportation and Communications Minister, has revealed that "there is nothing recognisable, neither material nor human."
Rivera, who was born in California, has been a strong figure in the Latino music scene for the last two decades, has sold over 20 million albums and received multiple nominations for the Latin Grammys. In addition to her musical success, Rivera was also quite the entrepreneur, starting up a number of companies that spanned across clothing, fragrance, cosmetics, music and even realty.
The talented Rivera was also in the process of taping the third season of her reality show "I Love Jenni" and as recently as last week, struck a deal with ABC to star in a new comedy show called "Jenni".
Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends at this tough time, especially her five children and two grandchildren.

Cheryl Cole Sues Over Unpaid "X Factor" Salary
British singer and television judge Cheryl Cole is suing for over $2 million that she claims she is owed. The brunette was let go from the "X Factor" last year, before the series even premiered and claims she had a deal for the first two seasons.
In her lawsuit, Cole says she had a "pay or play" deal with Blue Orbit Productions for the first two seasons and, while she was supposedly paid $1.8 million for the first season, she hasn't been paid for season two.
Cole claims she is still owed her salary of $2 million for season two, as well as additional costs that would have been contributed towards her wardrobe, accommodation and living costs.
What do you think about the lawsuit? Do you think she should still be entitled to the money if she was let go before it premiered?

Australian DJs Off Air in Wake of Nurse's Suicide
The two Australian DJs who made the prank call to the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated for Hyperemesis Gravidarum have been taken off air and have deleted their social media pages.
Mel Greig and Michael Christian from 2Day FM's "Hot 30 Countdown" show have deleted both their Twitter and personal Facebook pages after they received a large amount of backlash following the suspected suicide of Jacintha Saldahna, the nurse who initially answered and transferred their call to another nurse.
Southern Cross Austereo, the company that owns 2Day FM, has released a statement, saying that "Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) and 2Day FM are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha from King Edward VII's Hospital and we extend our deepest sympathies to her family and all that have been affected by this situation around the world."
The statement continued with news that the DJs have been taken off air and advised that "Chief Executive Officer Rhys Holleran has spoken with the presenters, they are both deeply shocked and at this time we have agreed that they not comment about the circumstances. SCA and the hosts have decided that they will not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy."
A spokesperson from King Edward VII confirmed the death of Jacintha and the fact she had been involved in the prank call. They said she was an "excellent nurse and well-respected and popular with all of her colleagues."
Their highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are also said to be deeply saddened to hear of such news, as revealed in a statement from St James' Palace.
Our sincerest condolences go out to Jacintha's family, friends and colleagues.

Rolling Stone names "The Message" the Greatest Rap Song of All Time.
In a great essay written by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson of the Roots, who help pick the winners, Rolling Stone names Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five's The Message as the best Rap song of all time.
I said a hip, hop, the hippy to the hippy/To the hip hip hop, you don't stop. . . .
If you have never heard the song go right now (we'll wait) toYouTube and check it out. It's isn't the Rap we hear today, but if you think about it you can hear how that song lead to where we are. Just like Questlove I can remember the first time I heard it and there was nothing else like it my little corner of suburbia.
While you are at it, also read his essay. Questlove can certainly give you a better perspective than I can. If you like to know how things got started this is some wonderful information. You can check it out by following our source link.
Let us know what you think, please.

Album of the Year Nominees 2013 Grammy Awards
Album of the Year Nominees for the 2013 Grammys have been announced and they are Mumford & Sons ("Babel") joining Frank Ocean ("channel ORANGE"), The Black Keys ("El Camino"), fun. ("Some Nights") and Jack White ("Blunderbuss").
Babel is considered a favorite to win. It sold over 600,000 units in its first week of sales; which was only just eclipsed when Taylor Swift's "Red" debuted with over a million units sold.
There is close to as much buzz about who wasn't nominated. Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, shot off multiple tweets about Justin being "snubbed". He did congratulate Carly Rae Jepsen on her nomination, though.
The song of the year nominations are as follows: Ed Sheeran - "The A Team", Miguel - "Adorn", Carly Rae Jepsen - "Call Me Maybe", Kelly Clarkson - "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)", Fun. - "We Are Young" I can think of several Artists on Demand host that will have their fingers crossed for Ed to win.

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast on Feb. 10 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. CBS will exclusively air the program, as it did the nominations concert.

Disney's Fantasyland Expansion Adds More for Boys.
Orlando Tourism |
Gaston, one of the male characters from Beauty and the Beast, is one of the stars of New Fantasyland. Beauty and the Beast, is one of the most popular Disney movies in recent decades, and Gaston is just one of the many ways Walt Disney World has focused on boys in this expansion of the Magic Kingdom, the largest in the park's history. The grand opening is today.
Gaston isn't the only male character now playing a major role alongside the princesses that have long been the main attraction. Beast (from Beauty and the Beast, as you might guess) and Prince Eric of "The Little Mermaid" each have their own castles in the expansion. Once the only castle in the Magic Kingdom was Cinderella's. Cinderella's castle is awesome, but the more castles the better!
Beast's castle houses the new French-themed restaurant Be Our Guest, while Prince Eric's castle sits atop the new ride, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. The addition of two new castles has changed the landscape of the Magic Kingdom.
The host was quick to point out, however, that all the additions to Fantasyland -- a second Dumbo ride, the new castles, the restaurants -- were less about singling out little boys, and more about inclusion of the entire family. "Walt's goal," he said, "was to be in the moment, to experience the family all together."
What do you think? Princesses rule and boys drool or are you happy to see some variety? Are you ever too old or too cool for theme parks? I don't think so! How about you?

Jazz Pioneer Dave Brubeck Dies at 91
AP |
The keyboardist was best known for his wonderful instrumental, “Take Five,” cut with the Dave Brubeck Quartet in 1959. The song's snaking rhythms and signature sax line, performed by the song's composer, Paul Desmond, propelled the album “Time Out” to sell more than 1 million copies. If you asked me to recommend a Jazz song to help you into the genre, this would definitely be in the top ten.

Cate Blanchett thinks being on the worst dressed list is a badge of honor.
If I were Cate, I'd probably feel exactly the same way. However, even someone as ethereally lovely as Cate Blanchett has a few beauty and fashion faux pas stories to tell.
She grew up in Australia where the tan surfer girl look was in and she would slather herself with baby oil and try to tan. When her mom explained that it was not a good,or practical, idea Cate went goth. Wouldn't it be cool to see those pictures?
She was asked if she ever consider "office procedures" to stop the aging process, she remarked that she may have considered it ten years ago but now her skin is more balanced. She says, "I think it's that theory, that if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Ms. Blanchett has shown up on a few worst dressed lists over then years and when asked about it she says, "I think it's a badge of honor," she said. "Because if you're worried about that stuff, you can tell. I mean, I've had some doozies, they don't always work. But who are you dressing for? You can't always dress for US Magazine."
"I don't want to drop a designer, but it's usually because there's too much hair and makeup competing with the outfit. Or you've seen something fabulous, and it is fabulous, but it doesn't quite work on you. The other thing is you can fall in love with something on a shoot, and it might work on a still shot, but not in real life."
All lists aside, with lot of amazing couture and three boys, who does she plan to pass her couture down to? "Suddenly my friend's daughters are becoming my best friends. I have so many 12-year-old girlfriends. I don't know, maybe my sons will be gay."
Okay, that just sealed the deal, Cate is totally cool.
What are your challenges? I secretly fear (and long for) that one of my sisters is going to sick Clinton and Stacy on me.

Amy Winehouse Home Sells for $3.2 Million
The Camden Square home that Amy Winehouse lived and, tragically, died in has sold for $3.2 million. The home was initially going to be used as the headquarters for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, but her family decided otherwise.
The house was put on the market back in May, with an asking price of $4.3 million, but there were no buyers for the home in which the troubled singer was found dead in July last year. Last month, the home was in the news again when Amy's wedding dress (that she wore when she married Blake Fielder-Civil) was stolen from the property.
It has since gone up for auction with five people bidding for the house. The bidding opened at $2.7 million, with the winning bid coming in at $3.2 million. There was no mention of Amy's name in the bidding brochure, but it was no secret who owned the home. Following Amy's death, it quickly became a shrine to the singer when fans left numerous flowers and gathered at the home to grieve her passing.
What do you think of the decision to sell the home? Would you buy a home if you knew someone famous had passed away there?

Olsen Twins Selling Pill-Covered Bags for Over $50,000
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are giving twelve people the opportunity to own a very unusual bag. However, it most definitely comes at a price. In fact, the price is higher than that of some cars. But if you can afford to spend $55,000 on a bag, then make sure you look at this one.
The twins have managed to overshadow the $39,000 backpack they are selling under their label, The Row, by releasing this latest one. Made of alligator skin (not unlike the $39,000 predecessor), their newest backpack creation features prescription pill appliqués all over it.
The duo teamed up with artist Damien Hirst to come up with the strange creation and are only releasing twelve of the backpacks. Despite it's absurd decorative component, there is an aspect of their sale that is easier to swallow. Some of the proceeds from the sale of these bags will go to UNICEF.
Check out the bag below and let us know what you think of the bag. Do you like it or loathe it? Imaginative or inappropriate?

Kim Kardashian is Yahoo's Most Searched Person of 2012
When Yahoo released the list of Top Searches on Monday, there was one person who came out on top. Coming in behind the election and iPhone 5, Kim Kardashian was the third highest search overall for 2012.
The brunette reality star also took out the highest spot on both the list of top searches for female celebrities and top searches for reality stars. Also in the top ten searches of reality stars were Kim's sisters, Khloe and Kourtney. Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner made the top ten in the same list, coming in at number nine.
In the top ten of overall searches, the Olympics and Political polls both made the cut, as well as Whitney Houston, who tragically died earlier this year.
The most searched for females included Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lopez, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. The list of male celebrities was topped by Justin Bieber, but also featured Robert Pattinson, Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, and Brad Pitt. Honey Boo Boo and Snooki both, unsurprisingly, made the list of most searched for reality stars.
