Filming for Sir Peter Jackson's The Hobbit is finally on the way after months of delay caused by Jackson's surgery, funding problems and issues with actors' wages.
Filming for both The Hobbit movies is said to take up to two years. Production will be taking place in New Zealand at Stone Street Studios, Wellington.
The Hobbit stars The Office's Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. Freeman can also be seen in BBC's brilliant series Sherlock in which he played Dr. John Watson. Freeman will be joined by The Lord of the Rings veterans Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf the Grey), Andy Serkis (Gollum), Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Cate Blanchett (Galadriel).
The first Hobbit movie is due out in late 2012.
