Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Filed Against Britney Spears
A lawsuit filed against Britney Spears and her parents by her ex-manager, Sam Lufti, has been dismissed by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. Lufti sued Britney and her parents, Jamie and Lynne, for battery, libel and breach of contract.
In a trial that lasted eight days, the former employee claimed he sustained immediate physical pain and and that his feelings were hurt in a 2008 altercation with Spears' father.
Lufti also claimed that he was defamed in Lynne Spears' 2008 memoir and was accused of manipulating the pop star. Lynne's attorney, Stephen Rohde, argued that if Britney's mother believed the things she had heard, which included Lufti crushing pills and medicating an unsuspecting Britney, then she could not be found to have been responsible for recklessly disregarding the truth.
It was also alleged by Lufti that Britney owed him back salary, but claim was refuted as there was no legal contract that entitled him to such money.
At the end of the trial, the judge dismissed the case. Despite Lufti telling reporters that he would appeal, Britney and her parents can breathe easy for now.
What do you think of the outcome? Are you Team Britney or do you think there's some truth to the allegations?
