The Mindy Project, Yay or Nay?

First off, I must say, Tuesday night TV is the best night of TV for the week. (Other than Thursday, of course.) With an amazing and hilarious line up this Fall, it was hard to pick and choose which shows to watch, which to DVR, and which to catch On Demand. Although, I knew that with out a doubt I HAD to be sitting on my couch for the premiere of The Mindy Project. And, let me tell you, I was not disappointed.

Like a few other shows this Fall, I have been waiting for months to see the premiere of this show. Mindy Kaling is one of those people who is just too funny not to watch anything that involves her. Being that this show is her television "baby" of sorts, it was sure to be at the height of hilarity! And, it was, my friends.

Any show that combines a single girl looking for love (in all the wrong places), references to classic Rom-Com's like When Harry Met Sally, sharp wit, and an atractive cast, is a #1 in my book. Given it's time slot being mixed in with Fox's other hit comedy show, New Girl, it is sure to pull in the right audience.

Kaling's main character, Dr. Mindy Lahiri, an OBGYN with a heart of gold and rollercoaster love life, is extremely likable. She will remind you of one of your own beloved friends, I promise you.

Danny, played by Chris Messina, is a fellow Doctor at the hospital Kaling's character works at. He combines that gruff caveman kind of persona with a little but of teddy bear attached. Of course, he comes off as a completely insensitive for most of the premiere episode, but low and behold, at the end you catch a glimpse of the good guy inside. He keeps Dr. Lahiri on her toes, and I think those two will have a great friendship (or more) up ahead.

Jeremy, played by Ed Weeks, is another co worker of Dr. Lahiri's. He is the British cutie pie whom she spends her recreational time with. (If ya catch my drift) They are friends, with and additional bonus. It appears that she knows this isn't the healthy way to finding her one true love, but she is still having her fun in the mean time. Plus, he's completely charming, so how could you resist?

And, of course, every single gal needs her best gal pal! That's where Gwen, the official BFF off Mindy Lahiri comes in the picture. Anna Camp does a great job of playing a character living the exact opposite of her Best Friend's life. Gwen is married and has a daughter, and is seen giving Lahiri love and relationship advice to throughout the premiere episode. To which Lahari promises that she will change her way and find true love.

Over all, I say The Mindy Project will be an excellent watch for the season. Definitely, a YAY, on our end!
