The Peoples Music Awards in London

Founded in September 2008 by managing director Dylan Satow, The Peoples Music Awards is taking place in London by the end of the month.

The purpose of the awards is to get unsigned artists to be heard by professionals and the music industry and the public alike. The winners of the awards in categories Indie/Rock, Hip-Hop, Dance, Male Solo Artist, Female Solo Artist, Experimental, Funk/Soul and Popare chosen by the people and guest judges who vote and judge on the awards' website.

There are 14 groups playing at the final that will be held at The Scala venue in the city's King's Cross on June 18. The awards will also be televised on TV station Eurochannel around the world.

Bands playing at the event include Stealing Sheep, Isaac's Aircraft, Mr B. The Gentleman Rhymer, The Yesmen, Frequently Asked Questions, Aurora J. Young, Ben Maggs, Kirstenana, Antonio Simone, The Beatrix Players, Travis Singleton, Un!son, Brass B****rdz and Disco Damage.
