English actor Daniel Craig praised his "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo{ co-star Rooney Mara (granddaughter of Giants founder, Tim Mara.)
"There were shenanigans going on while she was being cast. David Fincher was adamant [about Mara] and I get that. Just look at the beginning of 'The Social Network,' she's phenomenal. She's got something about her, but also she's physically perfect. When she puts the hoodie on and the leather jacket, she looks like a 14-year-old boy, she looks sexless. Which is perfect. The other side of it is that when she doesn't have that on, she's really sexy. That combination is absolutely true to the book."
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is scheculed to be realeased in theaters on Dec. 21.
One of the books in Stieg Larsson's award-winning "Millinneum Series" is getting another adaptation.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (original Swedish title "Män som hatar kvinnor"), the first book in Larsson's series will be by Academy award-winning director David Fincher ("Fight Club") and unlike its Swedish counterpart by Niels Arden Oplev, this adaptation will be in English.
The original Swedish adaptation of Larsson's "Millineum Series" starred Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist who both starred in the other two films in the trilogy. The 2011 adaptation stars English actor Daniel Craig ("Casino Royale") and American television and film actress, Rooney Mara ("Social Network") as Lisbeth Salander.
The original Swedish film version of the book received positive reviews and Rapace's performance was greatly praised making "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" an unforgettable film.
Niels Arden Oplev's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trailer:
The film is scheduled to be released both in United States and Canada on the 21st of December, 2011.
Here is the full trailer for David Fincher's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo":
Whilst the world gets to enjoy the Swedish movie adaptation of the hugely popular 'Millenium Trilogy' of books (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fired, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest - read them if you haven't already!), Hollywood has decided to rewrite the entire ending!
Apparently David Fincher (director of The Social Network, Seven, Fight Club & others) and scriptwriter Steven Zaillia have taken their own path with Steig Larsson's storyline, claiming that "Blomkvist is less promiscuous, Salander is more aggressive, and, most notably, the ending — the resolution of the drama — has been completely changed. This may be sacrilege to some, but Zaillian has improved on Larsson - the script's ending is more interesting."
This will make a lot of die hard fans very angry, but it will be interesting to see how it all pans out. The actress playing Lisbeth (Rooney Mara) has made a fantastic physical transformation for the role and Fincher is well known for his 'dark' take on situations. Daniel Craig is also starring.
