Costner in Superman Reboot

Superman is getting a re-boot and the Man of Steel is in great hands as "The Bodyguard" star, Kevin Costner will portray the hero's adoptive father, Jonathan Kent.

Recently closing the deal, Costner will be joining actors Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Henry Cavill (Clark Kent; Superman) in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' new Superman movie.

In the Richard Donner Superman movie, Jonathan Kent was played by Glenn Ford who suffered a heart attack. Warner Bros. however is not releasing any comment whether Costner's Kent would go through the same ordeal.

Christopher Nolan (Memento; Inception) will be producing the 2012 Superman: Man of Steel movie which will be penned by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins; The Dark Knight) and directed by Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead; Watchmen).

Baby Girl for the Beckhams!

British couple, David and Victoria Beckham are proud to be invited to the royal wedding. David who appeared on Ryan Seacrest' KIIS-FM show stated that he and fashion designer wife, Victoria, are "really excited about it."

That's not the only thing the power couple are excited about! It was reported that last week, David had revealed he and Victoria, who are expecting their fourth child, is carrying a baby girl. The couple has three sons- Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

David and Victoria will be attending Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding on April 29th.

Foo Fighters Gigs to Aid NZ and Australia

The Seattle rock band Foo Fighters are set to play two massive gigs to help the flood and earthquake victims in Australia and New Zealand.

With the former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters lead man, Dave Grohl, the band will play in Auckland, New Zealand on March 22nd. The band will then head to Brisbane, Australia to perform at Botanic Gardens on March 27th.

Christchurch Earthquake Appeal
will receive the money raised in the Auckland gig while the Brisbane proceeds will be donated to the Disaster Relief Appeal to assist in the on-going clean-up efforts in Queensland which was gravely affected by devastating floods earlier this year.

Another Slice of American Pie?

Stifler is back!

People
reported that Seann William Scott is reprising his role as the oversexed jock Steve Stifler ("The Stifmeister") from the American Pie series. Scott, 34, who recently entered treatment for "health and personal problems" will once again join Jason Biggs (Jim Levenstein) and Eugene Levy (Jim's dad, Noah Levenstein) in the new installment of the American Pie franchise. Original cast Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are in negotiation to return to the project.

The first American Pie film was released on July 9, 1999 by Universal Pictures and immediately became a hit. Two sequels followed the first movie at two years intervals. Four spin-offs have been created since then, the last one of which was released on December 22nd, 2009.

The new American Pie starts filming in May 24th. Scott's agent told People that the actor's "treatment is not expected to affect production."

Film in Gourmet

Danish actor Allan Hyde, best known for his brilliant potrayal of True Blood's Godric, Eric Northman's late-2000 year old Maker, launched his film production company, Gourmetfilm.com, today.

Gourmet Film is a production company Allan Hyde had started with long-time best friend, fellow actor/director/writer Aske Bang.

"We are dedicated to unite film and gourmet. Gourmet in film primarily but also film in gourmet," according to Allan in his February interview with AllanHydeNews.com. (Read full interview here.)

With its launching, Gourmet Film presents three short films Allan and Aske have collaborated together during the past years- "The Friendly” (‘Venskabskampen’), "The Dwarf and The Hooker" (' Dværgen og Luderen') and their award-winning short “Rickshaw” (‘Cykeltaxa‘). *All films are in Danish with English subtitles.

Virtual Elvis Concert During Elvis Week

During the 55th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, the traditional candlelight vigil and concert will be held at Graceland, Elvis' home in Memphis, Tennessee.

Elvis Week, as the remembrance of his death was called, was said to draw thousands of fans every year. The celebration is set on the 10th through the 16th of August.

The festivities will be highlighted by a concert with a virtual Elvis on a large LED-screen, accompanied by a live band and real back-up singers. A documentary about the man who discovered Elvis, Sam Phillips, will also be shown during the celebration. These events will be followed by a vigil at the late artist's grave.

What is Paul?


They are at it again.

British comedy duo, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost who brought us the brilliant films "Shaun of The Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" once again teamed up and came up with-- well, "Paul".

"Paul" is movie about two geeky British blokes who traveled to United States and drove an RV to see Area 51. On their way, they met someone- something- that will make their trip much more interesting than they expected.

Reuters conducted an interesting interview with the duo which you can read right here.

"Paul" stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost who penned the screenplay for the film and Canadian actor Seth Rogen (Superbad, Pineapple Express) as the voice of "Paul", a cigarette-smoking little grey alien. Jason Bateman and Kristen Wiig also star in the movie. The film was directed by Greg Mottola (Adventureland, Superbad).

"Paul" was released in the UK on the 14th of February and will be released in the United States this coming Friday, March 18th.
