Stifler is back!
People reported that Seann William Scott is reprising his role as the oversexed jock Steve Stifler ("The Stifmeister") from the American Pie series. Scott, 34, who recently entered treatment for "health and personal problems" will once again join Jason Biggs (Jim Levenstein) and Eugene Levy (Jim's dad, Noah Levenstein) in the new installment of the American Pie franchise. Original cast Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are in negotiation to return to the project.
The first American Pie film was released on July 9, 1999 by Universal Pictures and immediately became a hit. Two sequels followed the first movie at two years intervals. Four spin-offs have been created since then, the last one of which was released on December 22nd, 2009.
The new American Pie starts filming in May 24th. Scott's agent told People that the actor's "treatment is not expected to affect production."
