Dali's Alice in Wonderland Visits UK

Spanish Catalan surrealist Salvador Dali's Alice in Wonderland, one of his famous sculptures, went on display in the United Kingdom for the very first time.

Dali's art piece was inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventure in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass. It stands five meters in height and it worth £1.5m. It is said to be Dali's tallest work!

Dali's Alice in Wonderland was conceived in 1977. It was previously shown in shown in Florence, Rome, Paris, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong. Now it is being displayed at Moor House in the Square Mile with an indoor exhibition of sculptures, prints and original collages. The piece will be on display for the next three months.

The exhibit's curators hope that the piece will make an impression in London before it is packed up and shipped back home to Switzerland.

Salvador Dali was born in Figueres, in the Catalonian region of Spain. He was an eccentric character who was said to have a flamboyant behaviour that "often drew more attention than his artwork."
