Beckham involved in car accident; uninjured

English-born soccer star David Beckham was involved in a car accident on Friday at 9.13 a.m.

Beckham was driving a Cadillac on the 405 Freeway in Torrance when struck a stalled Mitshubishi owned by a 40 year-old man from Los Angeles. Police said that Beckham was not injured although the other man involved complained of pain and was taken to the hospital.

A spokeswoman said, "This collision occurred when his black Cadillac collided with the rear of a disabled gold Mitsubishi which was stalled in the carpool lane due to mechanical problems. The driver of the vehicle had a complaint of pain and was taken to hospital. David Beckham was not cited or arrested."

Beckham plays for Los Angeles Galaxy professional soccer team.
