Creator of Family Guy and American Dad, Seth McFarlane is revamping Hannah-Barbera's The Flinstones.McFarlane will act as the remake's executive producer. Referring to his own creation Family Guy and the classic The Simpsons, McFarlane joked, "I think America is finally ready for an animated sitcom about a fat stupid guy with a wife who's too good for him."
McFarlane promised not to changed the form of the cartoon too much but that he will add his own brand of humor to it.
The Flintones will air on the Fox network in the US. Production is due this year, with a 2013 on-air date.
