An Unemployed Wolfman needs your help

Yes, you read that right.... maybe more accurately, burgeoning film makers John Rodriguez, Gilberto Gomez and Fernando Gomez need your help to make their cinematic style web series 'Unemployed Wolfman' a reality.

This is what they are pitching:
Jared the Wolfman (not a werewolf as he never changes into human form) used to be at the top of the food chain. As the only wolfman around he was the go to actor for werewolf movies. He had it all: fame, fortune, and anything he could ever ask for. Unfortunately, it all got to his head and over time he became incredibly difficult to work with.

Assured that life would be like this forever, Jared spent his money with reckless abandon over the greater part of the last century. Money brought him friends, but eventually it was another fleeting part of his life. Today, he finds himself with only three friends that still talk to him (Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Mummy) and an agent who has grown attached to Jared and believes he can still be the star he once was in Ronald.

However, modern times have bred the popularity of CGI and Jared finds himself competing with the evolving nature of society and technology. Ever the old soul, Jared struggles to understand the changes life has brought to him. In the pilot episode, Jared is filming Wolfman 2, but due to over-budgeting and being behind schedule the producers decide it isn't worth it anymore and pull out of the project leaving Jared jobless. Beyond that, Ronald informs him that he is now broke.

This series chronicles Jared's life as he begins to pick up the pieces.

Given the current popularity of the supernatural genre, and the quirky twist that these guys present, it looks like they might be onto something. The biggest issue they are facing (and it's not an uncommon one) is funding, so just like other movies recently made, they are asking fans (and curious onlookers - no one's being fussy) to donate via Indie GoGo. Depending on your cash flow, and/or level of recognition you may like to acquire, they are accepting $10 to $1,000 donations and are aiming for a initial $3,000 to shoot the pilot. For your generous contribution, you will receive one of the following:

$10 or more: Special Thanks in credits
$25 or more: Special Thanks in credits PLUS signed concept art
$50 or more: Everything above PLUS a DVD copy of the pilot episode signed by the creator
$75 or more: Everything above PLUS have a character named after you in the show
$100 or more: Everything above PLUS an Unemployed Wolfman/Full Moon Films T-shirt
$250 or more: Everything above PLUS an exclusive gag reel and receive Associate Producer credit
$500 or more: Everything above PLUS a personalized Jared the Wolfman video message
$1000 or more: Everything above PLUS a cameo in the pilot episode AND a dinner with the cast and crew!!! (Continental USA only)

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, then they are accepting donations via PayPal (for piece of mind). If you can't donate fiscally, they are more than happy with a  tweet, or facebook page 'like' to help get the word out there.

It's really not easy to get these sorts of ventures off and running and these guys truly appreciate any and every morsel of exposure and cash they can get. Tell your momma, pappa, bestie, the strange dude sitting next to you on the bus, even your dentist! "For any reference you give out, you get a mental hug from all of us."

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Review (NO SPOILERS)

As the press was filed into the movie theater, we couldn’t help but glance back at the line of fans that was easily four people wide and wrapped down the entire hall, across the lobby, out the doors, down the front of the building, and around the corner. Clearly the Transformers fandom had come out in full force to see the trilogies third installment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, five days before being released to the general public. As a lot of them didn’t get in due to both theaters being jam packed, was it worth it for those who waited hours in line, and some in the rain, to be able to see the movie?

Absolutely! Transformers: Dark of the Moon exceeded any expectations that were given. The trailers did it no justice! We don’t want to give any spoilers away for those who haven’t seen it yet and are waiting in anticipation for opening night, but we will tell you the “feel” of the movie. Known for its random comedy throughout, the first two installments didn’t hold a candle to the hilarity of Dark of the Moon. Constantly laughing, even right after a huge action scene, Shia LaBeouf pulled out all the stops with how funny he really could be. His one-liners were the star of the show, facial expressions to match, and the other cast didn’t fall behind in making us all clutch our stomachs with laughter. Action… CHECK! New Decepticons were there to help, including Shockwave, who you see in the previews a bit, literally, tore up Chicago. They even slowed it down a bit with a few tearjerker moments. Think Optimus dying in Transformers 2, but multiply that sadness by about a hundred.

The only downfall to this movie is that it is extremely long and there are parts that are action free and sometimes left us wondering why they were dragging out the wait until the big doomsday fight, but this was made up for with humor and even a touch of romance. It was also well worth the wait to hear the soundtrack to this movie, which blew our minds! Pick it up! It’s worth it! Rosie Huntington-Whiteley surprised us by not being that bad! Although she was clearly flaunted for her amazing looks, her acting wasn't actually all that bad as we had anticipated.

All in all, without having been able to tell you all the gruesome details in fear that you would get mad at us for spoiling the movie, we give this movie 4 out of 5 stars, because lets face it… nothing is perfect. Check it out and make sure to tell us what your thoughts on it were.

Shadows and Lies Movie Review

Shadows and Lies is a suspense driven, thriller straight out of the core of New York cities coke trafficking thugs. James Franco, who plays William Vincent, get spotted by “the Boss”, played by Josh Lucas, who in turn recruits him into his gang of New York coke traffickers. Just like any good “boss”, he has a call girl, played by Julianne Nicholson. We all saw where this one was going as William falls for the call girl and from there the movie goes downhill for its characters.

While trying to figure out a way to help the girl, William is exiled out of the city where he spends four years brooding over his lost love; finally coming back to save the day in the end.

Although the film has a darker (and we literally mean darker) look to it, and sometimes a bit confusing with the flip flop of time sequences and a lot of walking around, this movie has a great story line, excellent cast, and all together good director. We’ll give it 3.5 out of 5 stars and encourage you to go out, pick it up, and let us know what you think. (Purchase below from Amazon.com)

Ryan Reynolds pens his own profile

Entertainment Weekly is witty enough to feature Ryan Reynolds on their week's cover and actually have him write an article about himself.

Canadian actor and funny man Ryan Reynolds pens "Why I'm Obsessed with Ryan Reynolds" and "plumbs the depts of Ryan Reynold's soul."

Here are some excerpts from the article:

Reynolds writes about 'the actor's boyhood in Canada' - “He spent a great deal of time with his older brothers and, in turn, his brothers were very close to him. Usually within striking distance.”

His first crush - "her name was Finona Gorchinsky and she broke Reynolds’s heart — and nearly his neck — during a school bus ride in the eighth grade."

His 'unwavering commitment to environmental issues' - “But Reynolds is also careful not to get too self-righteous, and is not one of those finger-wagging celebrities telling you how to live your life. He prefers to put the word out quietly, through the exciting mediums of interpretive dance and Japanese hand fans”.

Well that's one entertaining article!

It's a Boy for Natalie Portman!

The time has finally come!!! Natalie Portman and fiancee Benjamin Millepied have welcomed a bouncing baby boy to the world.

The baby's name has yet to be revealed, but we know for sure it won't be Oscar. When asked by a reporter if she were going to name the child after the award she won earlier this year, Portman said, "I think that’s probably, definitely out of the question, yeah."

Portman and Millepied are going to have a lot of shopping to do as well. In following with Jewish tradition, Portman did not make any purchases before the baby was born. When asked by Access Hollywood, she said: "I think it’s a Jewish thing to be kind of superstitious,” she told Access in April. “You don’t do any of the baby stuff before the baby arrives."

We wish nothing but the best for the happy couple and their precious baby boy.

Exclusive Interview with Torrey Devitto from Pretty Little Liars

Artists On Demand had the opportunity to ask Torrey Devitto some questions regarding the premiere of Pretty Little Liars, which airs tonight at 8 pm EST on ABC Family. Torrey is currently traveling around Europe, but took the time to answer these questions about the new season!

For those people who haven't yet seen Pretty Little Liars, what character do you play?
I play Melissa Hastings.  The older sister to Spencer Hastings.

Can you give us any indication of what Melissa might get up to in Season 2?
They keep everything extremely tightlipped on the show, even to us who are filming it, so I only know what’s happening as the scripts come out and so far all I can say is that there are a lot of changes and twists and turns in Melissa’s life in Season 2.  She is just hit with so many challenges and questions, its been really interesting to see what direction they are taking her in and to also see how her and Spencer’s relationship yo-yos along with all of it.

Is Season 2 going to be very different from Season 1?

Season 2 for me is completely different then season 1.  Season 1 I feel as though Melissa was a totally different character then she is to me now.  I really feel like I have played 2 different people on the series.

Are there any big plot lines that you can tell us about?
Big plot lines…Season 1 was left with a pretty big cliff hanger for Melissa, what is left over from those cliff hangers are definitely very big plot lines to come.

Given the serious nature of the story lines on Pretty Little Liars, are there many fun or light hearted moments on set?

There are surprisingly A LOT of funny, light moments on the set.  Troian happens to be hilarious without trying.  Its nice when you are always doing such heavy scenes together (as her and I normally are) to have light moments in between takes and in between some scenes.  This season has been a little more intense so far in my opinion but we have still definitely found a way to crack each other up here and there.

Have you read the Pretty Little Liars books and do you know if the show is going to follow the books closely?

I read the first Pretty Little Liars book while I was shooting the pilot just to get an idea of what everything was about.  I think the show is sticking to the outline of the books but have definitely taken their own turn and spin on things.

How is working on Pretty Little Liars different from working on One Tree Hill or other shows you have done?

Pretty Little Liars is a lot different to work on then any other show I have been on because any other show I have been on normally films out of the state I live in (LA) and when I am filming that show I normally work everyday.  My schedule on PLL is not as heavy because there are so many cast members to accommodate.  Also, its the longest lasting show I have ever been on.  Either shows I have been on have been canceled or I have been killed.  And so far with PLL none of those things have happened yet… fingers crossed!

If Carrie hadn't of been shot, would you have liked to have played her for longer (on One Tree Hill)?

If Carrie hadn't been killed on One Tree Hill I would have definitely loved to keep going with her.  That character lasted way longer then any of us anticipated!  She was my favorite character to play thus far.  I had so much fun torturing Paul Johansson.  Getting to play a character that went that off the deep end, and being able to go so far with her was so much fun for me.

You seem to play characters who are not the nicest or most stable people. Are you drawn to more complicated characters or is this just coincidence?
Playing these characters that aren't that nice or stable is really actually just a coincidence.  My poor mother and grammy hate it!   I think they want me to be on Barney or something. Ha!  But I love playing the crazies…keep it coming!

You are a skilled violinist. Do you think you would have pursued that as a career if you didn't start acting?
I actually started playing violin way before I ever even thought about acting.  I started playing when I was 6 and always thought that was the career path I would take.  But then when I got introduced to acting, I just fell in love with it and violin slowly started to take the back seat.

Do you have any other projects coming out that fans might want to know about?

I did a movie in October called Cheesecake Casserole which also Ryan Merriman was in that with me as well, coincidentally.

Do you have any websites or social networking sites that fans can follow you on?

I do not have any social networking sites or websites.  Actually that’s a lie, I have a tumblr now and I love it! Troian got me hooked! Although I'm not under my own name.  Its JoelleW.tumblr.com <http://JoelleW.tumblr.com> .  I guess people could follow me there, but they might be a little bored! ha. But I don't have twitter or any of that.. I just cant go there..yet at least.  It kind of freaks me out a little.

We want to give a big thanks to Torrey Devitto for taking the time to answer some questions about the new season of Pretty Little Liars as well as her other projects. Make sure to tune in tonight for the season premiere at 8 pm EST on ABC Family

New Ocean Media Partners with State Your Cause

New Ocean Media announced today the firm’s exclusive management representation of STATE YOUR CAUSE for all aspects of the band’s music endeavors.

From Columbus, OH, State Your Cause consists of singer James Scott, guitarists Deepan Rajah and John Scott, and Drummer Matt Young. Announcing the signing, New Ocean Media’s Doug Weber said, “State Your Cause is a band that Nixon from Framing Hanley brought to my attention. After hearing their self-released debut EP ‘Escape Rebellion Promise’ and some of their newly recorded unreleased material, I knew this would be a perfect fit for New Ocean Media. State Your Cause will also be the first project that myself and Nixon work on together bringing our different musical background experiences to benefit the band.” Co-manager Nixon adds "State Your Cause is a band that impressed me originally with their live show. They shared the stage with my band on a few different occasions, and it was refreshing to see such an ‘under the radar’ band go out and absolutely slay hundreds of people each time. After hearing their recordings, I knew there was something very special with this band. I'm beyond excited for the opportunity to bring these guys to a worldwide recognition."

"The opportunity to be aligned with industry pros like Doug and Nixon is not something that comes along every day” states frontman James Scott. “The band will be working hard to prove that the chance they are taking on us was most definitely a solid decision. We will make New Ocean Media proud."

State Your Cause is currently touring on their ‘Escape Rebellion Promise’ EP, which was recorded by Ben Schigel of Spider Studios (Chimaira, Drowning Pool, Switched). The band is currently shopping for a label with new tracks recorded with both Schigel and Brett Hestla (Creed, Dark New Day, Framing Hanley, Tantric).

Unseen Beatles Images being exhibit in London

Unseen images of The Beatles are now being exhibited in London before they go on sale on July 20th at Christie's in New York.

The more than 40 year old photographs were taken by photographer Mike Mitchell. Mitchell was only 18 when he was given a press pass to The Beatles's first U.S. concert at the Washington Coliseum in 1964. Later that year, Mitchell came back to cover the band's concent in Baltimore.

"Things were much different back then. There was no big security presence, the press wasn't corralled and I was free to sort of embrace my own ambition," Mitchell told Reuters.

Several of the pictures are said to valued at between around $1,000 to $6,000 each.

Cathy Elkies, head of the Iconic Sales at Christie's in the United States said that the remaining two Beatles members and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison are welcome to see the images before they go on sale in July.
