Academy award winning American actor Cliff Robertson who was born on the 9th of September in 1923 passed away the day following his 88th birthday.Robertson won an Oscar back in 1968 for the film Charly where he portrayed mentally disabled janitor.
Robertson also worked in different movies, taking up supporting roles. Robertson's last project was the Spider-Man franchise where he played Ben Parker.
A spokesman for Robertson's family confirmed his death Saturday but did not give any further details. The actor died at Stony Brook University Medical Center of natural causes according to media reports.
