Gourmet Film's "Stupid Clown"

Danish actor Allan Hyde, best known for his portrayal of the 2,000 year-old vampire Godric in HBO's True Blood recently released a short film written and directed by himself under GourmetFilm.

Hyde described the short titled Stupid Clown "theater of the absurd as a road trip short film."

"Vincent and Eugene are on the road and though the distractions are

plenty, they are determined not to let anything slow them down," Hyde added.

Stupid Clown is both funny and bitter-sweet, a reminiscence of Samuel Beckett's classic French play, Waiting for Godot. And like Beckett's play, Stupid Clown can be interpreted in so many ways; what is the point of the story? Or is there any point to it at all? Hyde's writing is very simple; the lines were direct but left impact. What's memorable about the film is the actor's interaction with each other (that and Vladimir and Estragon sitting on the side of the road holding ballons.)

Produced by Christian Heuer Stupid Clown stars Johnny Simmons (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as Vincent, Allan Hyde as Eugene, Tom Banks (Director of Photography), and Reece Miller (Sound Recordist). Other credits: Hans Christian Arnt Torp (Sound Design, Sound Recordist), Daniel Vognstrup (Music, Sound Recordist), and Stephanie Potts (Makeup).
