"The Lone Ranger" it looks like, is finally going to happen.
Disney and Gore Verbinski had a struggle to bring down the budget for the project that would star Johnny Depp who is playing "Tonto" and Armie Hammer. Disney announced in August 2011 that the project has been shelved although recently, Disney have decided to go on with the production, keeping both Depp and Verbinski. It is unknown whether previously cast actos including Helena Bonham Carter, Dwight Yoakam, Barry Pepper, and Tom Wilkison will still be a part of the production. Ruth Wilson was said to likely play the lead female role.
Production is expected to start early 2012.
