Singer-songwriter Neil Diamond recently announced his engagement with girlfriend Katie McNeil through Twitter:"Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie &I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well."
This will be Diamond's third marriage.
Diamond married his first wife, his high-school sweetheart, Jayne Posner. Posner and Diamond had two children together. They divorced in 1969. Diamond married his production assistant Marcia Murphey and had two more children with her before their divorce in 1995.
Diamond was third most successful Adult Contemporary artist in terms of Billboard chart success. He ranked behind Barbra Streisand and Elton John. On the 14th of March, 2011, Diamond was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It was recently announced that Diamond together with four other artists including Meryl Streep, Barbara Cook, Yo-Yo Ma (cellist), and Sonny Rollins (saxophonist/composer) will recieve the Kenny Center Honors in December.
