Joe Simpson, father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, has pleaded no contest to a DUI charge. His attorney entered the plea on his behalf, as the charge was a misdemeanor, meaning Joe didn't have to make an appearance in court.
Aside from facing this charge, Joe and wife, Tina, also announced last month that they were divorcing after 34 years. In what is clearly not Joe's best year, he was sentenced to 36 months probation, ordered to complete a three month alcohol education course and was also required to pay fines almost in excess of $400.
Hopefully, by pleading no contest, this will mean that the DUI charge will soon be one less thing Joe has to worry about.
