When Disney bought out Lucasfilm this week, it seemed that George Lucas had struck pay day gold when he made $4 billion (that's right, Billion!) from the sale, but the legendary director has other ideas.
Instead of keeping the money, Lucas has decided to give most of it away. While it's not yet clear what foundation he will donate to, one of the possibilities is that it could be one that's part of the George Lucas Educational Foundation.
In a statement on Wednesday, Lucas pointed out that he has been involved with Lucasfilm for 41 years and that "As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy."
I'm sure whichever lucky foundation Lucas chooses will be able to use the money for something great!
