Lionsgate have officially confirmed on their Twitter account that the man currently at the helm of the second "Hunger Games" movie will also be responsible for the two-part finale.
Francis Lawrence is in the midst of directing "Catching Fire", the sequel to the highly popular movie which first saw Jennifer Lawrence take on the role of Katniss Everdeen.
Following the release of "Catching Fire" in late 2013, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will be released in theaters in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Lawrence was brought on board to replace Gary Ross as the director of the sequel after Ross left, citing that there was not enough time before the release date to write and prepare the movie the way he wanted to.
