Man Who Accused Elmo Puppeteer Changes Story Again
In what has certainly got to be one week puppeteer Kevin Clash probably wishes hadn't happened, the man who accused him of having a sexual relationship with a minor has changed his story yet again.
Sheldon Stephens sent the world wide media into overdrive last week when he accused Clash of having a relationship with him when he was only 16. Yet, days later, he accepted a $125,000 settlement which also required him to write a statement that the two men had engaged in an "adult consensual relationship".
Clash, also known as the voice of the much-loved Elmo, admitted he had been involved in a relationship with Stephens, but never when he was a minor.
Stephens, who has a prior criminal history, is now claiming he was pressured into agreeing to the settlement and wants to stick to his original story.
Whatever happens, we hope this drama is resolved soon for the sake of everyone involved.
