And the search is over.300 director Zack Snyder, the man behind the upcoming Superman reboot, has announced that The Fighter's Amy Adams will portray the "smart, tough, funny" journalist, Lois Lane.
According to reports, Snyder felt that Adams will be perfect for the role.
Snyder explained, "It goes back to what I've said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What's important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today's audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance]."
Adams will be joining Henry Cavill as The Man of Steel and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as the Kents, Superman's adoptive parents.
Superman: Man of Steel will be released in theaters in December 2012.
