Former Fugees frontman Wyclef Jean was shot during his visit in his native land Haiti. Wyclef Jean was in Port-au-Prince, supporting Haiti presidential candidate Michel Martelly. He received a gunshot wound on the hand on Saturday while driving through the country's capital the night before the country's presidential elections.
Jean's management tweeted, "We have spoken to Wyclef, he is ok. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers" following the incident.
Jean was immediately released from the hospital after a treatment. He cast his ballot on Sunday (March 20, 2011) and stated that he was grazed by a bullet and doesn't blame it on anyone.
The police are conducting an investigation on the alleged shooting but was reported to not have a suspect yet.
