Phil Collins Quits Music Industry
Due to health issues (hearing lose, dislocated vertebrae and and nerve damage in hands) caused by playing the drums over the years, Genesis drummer and vocalist Phil Collins had officially quit the musical business. This is not the first time Collins attempted to leave the music industry. Collins hinted retiring in 2009 on the Genesis website and this was after he dislocated a vertebrae in his neck preventing him from playing the piano and the drums. He had then moved to Switzerland where he lives in a remote town with his two sons.
Collins had faced criticisms over the years which he addressed in a FHM interview: "I'm sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn't mean it to happen like that. It's hardly surprising that people grew to hate me."
Collins had popularized hits like "Against All Odds", "One More Night", "Another Day in Paradise" and "Invisible Touch" as a solo artist and as part of the band Genesis.
