Arcade Fire and Spike Jonze's "Scenes From the Suburbs"

"Scenes From the Suburbs" is a 30-minute film by American director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich; Where the Wild Things Are) featuring the music of Grammy Award winning indie rock band, Arcade Fire.

The short film premiered at the Austin's SXSW festival. It was co-written by band members and brothers Win and Will Butler along with Spike Jonze. The film showcases the lives of several suburban teenagers "whose innocence is interrupted by the ongoing threat of a war going on in the rest of the country."

While the film used snippets from several songs from the album "The Suburbs" - Montreal's Arcade Fire's award winning album - the band members were also featured in the short with cameo roles (policemen, fry cooks.) Among the songs used in the film was "Modern Man," "Half Light," "Suburban War," "Month of May" and the title track, "The Suburbs."

"Scenes From the Suburbs" is scheduled to be released on DVD this spring.
