Lucasfilm Ltd. and 20th Century Fox have decided to release the 3D version of "Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace" on February 10th, 2012. It was said that Lucasfilm believes that "Star Wars is perfectly suited to be seen on 3d." If "The Phantom Menace" succeeds, the other 5 films in the series will be released a year apart with comparable dates. It was also said that depending on the first film's performance in the box office, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox could also decide to release the rest of the series on different dates.
