Is it art? Videogames are coming to MoMa.

amc.com

Videogames, fourteen of them anyway, will be added to the Design wing of the Museum of Modern Art.  Curator,  Paola Antonelli, blogged yesterday “[Not only are they art] but they are also design, and a design approach is what we chose for this new foray into this universe."

The 14 titles already in the permanent exhibit are Pac-Man, Tetris, Another World, Myst, SimCity 2000, vib-ribbon, The Sims, Katamari Damacy, EVE Online, Dwarf Fortress, Portal, flOw, Passage, and Canabalt. There are also plans to add 26 additional games to its collection, including Spacewar!, Pong, Snake, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, M.U.L.E., Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda (Yay, Link!), Street Fighter II, Chrono Trigger, Animal Crossing, and Minecraft.

“Because of the tight filter we apply to any category of objects in MoMA's collection, our selection does not include some immensely popular video games that might have seemed like no-brainers to video game historians," wrote Antonelli.

The video games were chosen using four main criteria: The behavior designers prompt from the players, aesthetics, time spent in the game, and space, which is described as “an architecture that is planned, designed, and constructed according to a precise program, sometimes pushing technology to its limits in order to create brand new degrees of expressive and spatial freedom.”

The exhibit will be ready for the public to view in March of 2013.  They will be "interactive experiences" or if the game is compact enough the patrons will be able to play them in their entirety.

In 2010 Roger Ebert, the esteemed entertainment critic,  wrote and essay called "Why video games can't be art."  I guess now they can!

Top baby names of 2012. Do you see anything familiar?

www.cartoonaday.com
Babycenter just released their annual list of most popular baby names and you might recognize a few of them.  Aiden tops the boys’ list for the eighth year in a row, and Sophia is number one on the girls list for the third consecutive year.

Parents like names with meaning and significance to the family's lives.  They also want a unique name; which seems a bit odd if the name ends up on a top ten list.

This is the list.  Do you see anything familiar?

Girls
1. Sophia
2. Emma
3. Olivia
4. Isabella
5. Ava
6. Lily
7. Zoe
8. Chloe
9. Mia
10. Madison

Boys
1. Aiden
2. Jackson
3. Ethan
4. Liam
5. Mason
6. Noah
7. Lucas
8. Jacob
9. Jayden
10. Jack

One of the things said to factor into the trends are popular novels - and there is a bit of Twilight influence on both lists. Ana, which is an abbreviation of Anastasia, is moving rapidly up the list; though not yet in the top ten.

The London Olympics added a bit of British flavor (Pippa and Kate both rose) and space exploration elevated names like Sky, Star, Luna, Skylar, Heaven, Stella, and Mars. Fairytale names also remain perennial favorites from the "Once upon a time" mythos too.  Believe it or not, in a presidential election year, red, white, and blue names like Reagan, Kennedy, Carter, and Lincoln saw some upswing.  The names of the candidates actually running in the 2012 race didn't really see growth.  Mitt and Paul? Just no.

Do you know what you want to name your baby?   Moms, why did you pick the name that you did?

My mom definitely had a Hollywood thing going on. I am named for Debbie Reynolds and my younger sister for Mitzi Gaynor.  My name was on the tops list for years and years and I have always thought it was irritating to be one of "The Debbies".  It is interesting to wonder how life is different for someone named something more exotic.  Don't even get me started on some of the more -um- fascinating names that stars attach to their offspring!

What do you think? What's in a name?

BOOK REVIEW: Touch & Go by Lisa Gardner

As many know, I am a huge fan of the New York Times Bestselling author, Lisa Gardner.

Her riveting crime dramas always have you dying for that next ten minutes of free time to read a few more pages. Last year, about this time, Lisa Gardner was ramping up for the release of her book 'Catch Me' and the release of 'Hide' as a TNT movie. It appears there is no rest for the weary.

February 5th, 2013 will mark the release of her newest novel, Touch & Go, and boy... she has out done herself again! If you thought her previous 16 novels and 1 novella were amazing, 'Touch & Go' will blow your mind. Having the privelege to read it before release, I definitely vouch for this book! Instead of one or two missing people from separate walks of life and D.D. Warren trying to find a  common ground, Tessa Leoni (who you may remember as the suspected officer who was accused of shooting her husband in Love You More) is a new P.I. in the corporate world and searching for an entire missing family! That's right... an ENTIRE family!

While reading this book, I felt my blood pressure spike on more than one occasion, my finger nails are now nubs from biting them, and I most likely pulled a hair or two (or five) out while reading. 'Touch & Go' is the perfect collision of corporate scandal meets family abduction. I even found myself loving the characters I think you were meant to hate and hating the ones that you thought you should have initially loved. Believe me... you won't see the end coming!

So, in conclusion, I highly recommend that everyone swing over to Lisa Gardner's website and pre-order 'Touch & Go' (and a few of her other novels if you haven't read them). If I had more than two hands, I would give 'Touch & Go' more than two thumbs up! Fantastic piece of work. Great story line. Absolutely riveting. Possibly my new favorite by the talented Lisa Gardner!

Congratulations to Lisa Gardner, as her book 'Catch Me' was named one of Library Journal's Best Books of 2012: Thrillers! We agree!

Ben Affleck's very good year!

Getty images
Ben Affleck has a good life, by almost any measure.  He has a beautiful wife, lovely daughters, good friends and a fine career.  However, 2012 is proving to be an exceptional year in an already amazing life.  Two weeks ago he was named GQ's filmmaker of the year and now Entertainment Weekly has named him Entertainer of the Year.  He will be featured on the magazine's cover, which comes out today.

An EW staff post attributed 40-year-old Mr. Affleck's selection for the "number one spot on [the] annual list of the most talented and original performers who entertained [the staff] in 2012" to his performance in "Argo."

There is a lot of Oscar buzz around the movie and the fact that Ben has matured as a filmmaker.    Have you seen Argo?  Is is something you'd be interested in seeing?

Well I'll be a Monkey's Uncle and then some!

You might recognize this handsome, talented, and suave man, but just in case you don't....Let me introduce you to M. Lawrence Abrams.  He is a percussionist, plays the bass, saxophone and the flute.  Sometimes more than one at at time as the picture attests.

Mr. Abrams, aka Uncle Larry, spent a few years with a wonderful band know as 100 Monkeys, but sadly they are no more.   He is now working on a project called Universal Love, or UL if you are in to that whole brevity thing, a jazz project in association with Repro-DuctionsLLC.  He has also been associate with a quasi-mythical band called The Gentle Giants.

M. Lawrence Abrams can be seen at the Indie Music Cares Benefit for Children of the Night as one of the featured performers.  He is delighted to be able to lend his love and talent for such a good cause.  Come on out to visit your Uncle!

Mike Tyson to take his one man show on the road.

"Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth" is an autobiographical monologue performed by Tyson where he speaks about his tough childhood in Brooklyn, his absent father, and his self-described "reckless and destructive" behavior. It premiered in Las Vegas in April and had a run on Broadway.

Mr. Tyson, 45, has been vilified (not without cause) over the years, but the movie The Hangover helped him be seen in a bit of a better light.  It was announced on Jimmy Kimmel live on Tuesday Tyson would be taking his Spike Lee directed show on a twenty-three city tour.

It is scheduled to begin on February 12 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Mike Tyson retired from boxing in 2006.

The Cast of Les Misérables - No lip-syncing for you!

File under:  There IS still (non c.g.) magic left in the world.

Those that have listened to Artists on Demand know how in awe I am of Broadway performers who can get on stage to dance and sing musical numbers every night.  It takes both courage and talent for that - both far beyond my mere mortal understanding.

Maybe I am a bit more jaded about Hollywood, because I never dreamed that in a film environment the songs would be sung live.

The mandate for the Les Misérables was there will be no lip-synching!!  The movie’s director, Tom Hooper, who explained that it was of the utmost importance to have the actors singing live, to make the performances believable. The cast agreed, so Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman all had to put their vocal talents on display if they wanted to be part of the film.

“The whole sense that the character is producing the song, rather than the character is following a song, completely changes the medium of the music,” Hooper said to MTV. “It's amazing how much more visceral and how much more real it is. I, for one, find lip-syncing; it's always made me find it fake. Even the great musicals, I have to kind of forgive them for miming. It's a real step forward in the form, which we are all really excited to be involved in.” Hathaway reportedly spent four months with a vocal coach before joining the rest of the coach for the nine-week filming schedule and it looks as though her hard work paid off.

Anne's role, Fantine, is not huge but she is getting excellent reviews and there is already some Oscar buzz.
I have not seen the play; however, the movie version of Les Miserables premiered at New York’s Lincoln Center recently.  Will you see it at the theater?  Has anyone seen it on Broadway?  What was it like?

Adele's 21 Sells over 10 Million - That's the math we like!

Los Angeles Times
21 is named for the chanteuse's age when she was recording the album and maybe that was lucky because it just became the 21st album to sell 10 million copies.  21 hasn't left the Billboard Top 100 since it's debut at number one last February.

In a detailed analysis, Billboard's Keith Caulfield says  "21" is one of eight albums to move 10 million copies in their first two years of release. The others include Santana's "Supernatural," the "Bodyguard" soundtrack and "Jagged Little Pill" by Alanis Morissette. N Sync's "No Strings Attached" and the Backstreet Boys' "Millennium" got there even faster, hitting the 10-million mark in less than 11 months.

Just incredible, but then so is the album!  What do you think? Do you own 21?

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: William Smillie - Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire premiered Wednesday, Oct. 10thon NBC! How would you describe this show?

Chicago Fire is an ensemble show based in a fictional Chicago Fire Department’s House 51.  The firehouse plays home to the crews of an ambulance, engine, ladder truck, and a Rescue Squad.  It follows the lives of those crews, not just on the job, but in their personal lives as well.  While there is plenty of action, the real focus is on telling the stories of these people who risk their lives on a daily basis to protect ours.

You play Hadley. Can you tell us a bit about your character?

Hadley is a member of the Rescue Squad.  All of the Squad guys are trained not just in firefighting but in things like water rescues, repelling rescues, ledge work (jumpers), and any number of other specialties.  They’re also the guys who rescue other firefighters if need be (although all firefighters will put their necks on the line for a fellow firefighter).  He’s a member of that team both on the job and off.  The Squad guys work hard together and play hard together.

In the first ten minutes of episode one, there was a tragic loss for the department, setting the tone. It then followed with lots of drama, fires, shirtless men, secrets we are hoping get revealed, and of course, lots of fire! What can fans expect from the rest of this season?

Absolutely that.  In addition to really impressive action pieces revolving around the job, You can look forward to getting to know the characters really well.  The show is not just about going out on calls.  We’re making a very concentrated effort to show you what these folks go through both on and off the job.  The thing about firefighters and EMTs is that while they are all absolute heroes, they don’t think of themselves that way.  They’re there to do a job and when they’re done they have to go home and face the same kinds of trouble that you and I do.  They have families and obstacles and dreams and trouble paying the bills just like everyone else.  We’re trying to show you the whole picture.

The cast on this show is a mixture of long time actors and fairly new faces in the business. How does everyone get along on set?

Oh, it’s disgusting.  Just digusting.  We all get along famously.  I mean, we hang out with each other off set.  It’s that bad.  In addition to everyone being genuinely fun to be around, we’ve also developed this sense of being comrades in arms that echoes that which the real folks on the job have.  You should see these guys when they get together.  There’s a brand of ball-busting that only comes from genuinely enjoying each other.

Is there a higher level of expectations on the set to properly show the world the life of a firefighter in Chicago while still adding the love triangles and drama that viewers want?

Absolutely.  Most of the extras in uniform you see in the show are real firefighters.  We know these guys.  We hang out with these guys.  They are now our friends.  We want to do right by them.  Not only do they show us how to do the job properly, but just by being around, we get the chance to really get to know them.  And it makes us focus on doing right by them.

Why will fans like this show? What will draw them in compared to the other shows currently on television?

Because there’s more going on than the action.  This show is about the people.  If we’re doing our jobs right, and I think we are, you’re going to really love these people.  I’m looking forward to hearing the Who’s Your Favorite conversations because people are going to associate with and latch on to certain characters.

Aside from Chicago Fire, what else can fans be on the lookout for, or are you currently concentrating on this?

I’m shoulder deep in Chicago Fire right now.  Whatever remaining work time I have is spent doing voiceover jobs.  Keep an ear out for USSA spots on the TV and radio, and for an upcoming Cars.com campaign.  You’ll hear me doing my schtick.

The viewers are the reason that shows make it and get renewed for more seasons. What would you tell the fans if you could tell them anything?

It ain’t just a show about firefighters with their shirts off.  Sure, we got some eye candy, but this show is about so much more than that.  Come for the pecs, stay for the brains.

Where can fans find you online? Twitter? Facebook?

I’m a pretty private guy.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions and we look forward to watching Chicago Fire on NBC! Wednesdays at 10 pm!

My absolute pleasure.

Anna Nicole's Daughter Dannielynn Models for Guess

History is repeating itself as Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, makes her first modelling appearance for Guess Kids. The adorable six-year-old features in a couple of shots that will be used in the Spring 2013 campaign.

But being a model alone isn't where the similarities between Dannielynn and her mother end. Not only was Smith a model too, but she was also a model for Guess 20 years ago. Dannielynn's appearance is the first time a "second-generation Guess girl" has been featured in one of their campaigns.

It seems that Dannielynn is not the only child of photogenic celebs making their small marks on the modelling world. Cindy Crawford's daughter, Kaia, and Alessandra Ambrosio's daughter, Anja, have already made their modelling debuts, while Jennifer Lopez's twins, Max and Emme, have appeared alongside their mother in campaigns for Gucci.

Whatever happens, we're sure this is just the beginning for Dannielynn!

"Equality Defines Us" Brad Pitt speaks about Gay Marriage and more.

MTV.com
Recently, during a press day for his new movie "Killing them Softly", Mr. Pitt spoke with MTV about the film and about some of the interesting news happening now.  In addition to being a talented actor, a devoted father, and a handsome man, he is very social responsible.  Brad has no problem donating his money or celebrity to causes in which he believes.

"Equality, absolutely, that's what defines us. It's what makes us great," Pitt said when asked about what he thinks about Maine, Maryland and Washington legalizing gay marriage. "If it doesn't sit well with your religion, let your God sort it out in the end, but that's us. We're equal."

At one time, Brad and his long time partner Angelina Jolie, stated that they wouldn't consider getting married until everyone was able to - Brad was quoted by ABC News at the Killing them Softly premier as saying, "The time is nigh. It will be soon. I got a good feeling about it

Apparently, they are feeling some pressure from the kids!

Brad says that he doesn't understand linking marriage equality and the legalization of marijuana. "I do believe that we should be responsible for our own choices in talking about the drug laws, and that the drug war is an ultimate failure and that the billions and billions of dollars that we've committed to it, there's got to be a better way. I don't believe in incarceration over education — don't get me started. But there's real damage to drugs; that is not the same as with gay marriage. Since the last round [of elections], they've been linked in every article. I find that curious."

So what will he say to his children about drugs?  He, like most parents, is dreading the conversation.

"I think there's an age of understanding and there's a reason why there are no old drug addicts: It either kills you or you get out," he said. "I'm going to leave it at that point right there."

Actors certainly don't have the market cornered with their opinions about social issues, after all they are people just like the rest of us (except maybe better looking!). However, Mr. Pitt backs his socially progressive ideas with good works and a socially responsible lifestyle.  There is something to be said for walking the walk while talking the talk.

Killing them Softly premiered SVA Theater on Monday (November 26) in New York City.

Halle Berry's Ex Gets Restraining Order Against her Fiancé

Following a Thanksgiving brawl at actress Halle Berry's home, her ex, Gabriel Aubry has taken out a restraining order against Olivier Martinez, Berry's fiancé. Both men sustained injuries in the ordeal and, while there are differing reports as to who started the fight, Aubry has indicated in court documents that it was Martinez.

The model, who is currently locked in a bitter custody battle with Berry over their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, alleges that Martinez kicked off the situation the day before at Nahla's school. He claims Martinez whispered to him in French that “I wish I could beat the s**t out of you right now. You’re lucky we’re in a school right now. We’re going to take Nahla right now and you’re not going to follow us.”

Aubry then claims Martinez met him at the door when he went to drop Nahla off the next day for Thanksgiving and that Martinez started beating Aubry, banging his head against the concrete driveway. He alleges Martinez also threatened to kill him if he didn't follow the family to France because they planned on moving anyway, despite a judge rejecting Berry's application to take Nahla to France.

To add more drama to the situation, Berry obtained an emergency restraining order against Aubry after his arrest following the fight, meaning Aubry's not the only one with a restraining order!

Chris Brown Shuts Down Twitter Account After Feud

Singer Chris Brown has shut down his Twitter account after engaging in a bitter Twitter feud with comedy writer Jenny Johnson, during which Johnson called Brown out on his violent behavior towards Rihanna in the past. It all started when Brown tweeted about how old he looks while only being 23, to which Johnson responded "I know! Being a worthless piece of s*** can really age a person."

As if it didn't start off bad enough, things spiraled out of control from there. Brown encouraged Johnson to perform a sex act and calling her a "hoe" before she corrected him on his spelling.

The feud got explicit very quickly and included Johnson posting a link to a story that discussed Brown's violent incident with Rihanna in 2009 in response to one of his tweets. Brown then tweeted "Just ask Rihanna if she mad??????" in an attempt to show that, despite the past, the Barbados-born songstress had apparently forgiven him.

With neither Brown or Johnson able to persuade the other to agree with their side of things, both parties eventually resigned from the argument, with Brown resigning from Twitter altogether.

Miley Cyrus Given a Pig For Her Birthday

Nora the pig is one lucky pig. As a token gift to Miley Cyrus on her 20th birthday, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has sponsored Nora in the superstar's honor.

PETA Executive Vice President, Tracy Reiman said that "PETA knew that sponsoring a rescued pig was the perfect birthday present for a young woman who spends so much time encouraging others to help animals."

The organization made reference to the fact that Miley "lavishes love on her rescued dogs and consistently encourages people always to adopt and never buy." They also pointed out that the singer never stops letting her fans know how they can help make the world a better place for animals by either promoting animal adoption to speaking up for cows on dairy farms.

As for Nora, the pig is now a resident at Kindred Spirits Sanctuary in Florida where many abused or neglected animals can find refuge.

Trafalgar Square Shut Down for Tom Cruise

It takes something big to shut down one of the most popular tourist spots in one of the biggest cities in the world. But Tom Cruise managed to do just that on Saturday, when he shut down Trafalgar Square in London.

Cruise is in London filming All You Need Is Kill, a film about a soldier who fights a war against aliens. He was filming a scene in Trafalgar Square where his character, Lt. Col. Bill Cage, lands a helicopter in the popular tourist location.

While tourists and Londoners were kept back by police, this is certainly something you don't see every day, so we don't think they would have minded seeing this instead of getting to walk through the Square.

Country Singer Jake Owen and Wife Welcome Baby

It was most certainly a happy Thanksgiving in Jake Owen's house this year. The country singer and his model wife, Lacey Buchanan welcomed a baby girl into the world on November 22.

Owen's rep revealed that Olive Pearl Owen was born in Nashville, weighing in at 6lbs., 3 oz. and measuring in at 19.5 inches. The rep went on to say that the new parents intend on calling their baby girl by her middle name, Pearl, and that she was named after Owen's godmother.

After the couple met on the set of the singer's video for "Eight Second Ride", they married on the beach at sunrise in May this year. Owen has said in a statement that he and his wife are "so excited to start our own family."

The country singer went on to add that "We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her."

Gangnam Style Most Watched Video of All Time on YouTube

If you're like most people, you've probably heard of "Gangnam Style" by now. You know, that video where only Korean-speaking people can understand the verses but everyone knows the song and the accompanying dance.

What's probably more amazing is that this video managed to do in just four months what Justin Bieber's "Baby" video took two years to do - generate over 803 MILLION views!

While the Canadian Bieber's 2010 video has 803,847,584 views, the video for "Gangnam Style", by South Korean sensation, PSY, has skyrocketed to an astronomical 805,055,375 views.

"Gangnam Style" was released on July 15 and is now the most-watched video on YouTube of all time. “#Gangnam Style just became the most watched video @YouTube!! #History,” PSY tweeted when the video smashed the record.

If you're one of the few that's managed to escape the "Gangnam Style" craze, check it out below.

Irish Editor Resigns After Publishing Kate Middleton Topless Photos

After the controversy over those topless photos of Kate Middleton and the action taken by the British Royal Family immediately after they were published, editors of other publications would have been wise not to make the same mistake.

However, Michael O'Kane, the editor of Irish Daily Star chose to publish the photos after they were published by a French magazine. Since the photos were released in September, O'Kane had been on suspension from the newspaper and resigned on Saturday.

Following O'Kane's decision to run the photos, shareholders of the publication were not happy, including Richard Desmond, a Brit who owns a portion of the Star. Desmond had threatened to end the paper after it did what every paper in Britain refused to do and print the photos.

Despite his suspension, the Irish Daily Star noted in a statement that is was O'Kane's decision to resign and leave the paper for good.

Naked Lady Gaga Finds 35 Fans in Garage

When you walk into your kitchen for a snack, the last thing you'd expect to find is 35 fans in your garage. But for Lady Gaga, that really happened on Thanksgiving.

The singer is currently in Peru and found over three dozen of her monsters hiding in the garage of where she's staying. The next day, she tweeted that “#MONSTERFACT when gaga is asleep try to break into the garage, sing loud as possible, + ring the doorbell repeatedly #happeningnow #bad kids.”

Gaga expanded on the tweet, explaining what went down. "Thanksgiving story: woke up for leftovers in kitchen (naked) – stumbled on security camera revealing 35 monsters in my garage #why #iloveu" she tweeted.

Despite what must have been a bit of a shock for Gaga, we hope she had a good Thanksgiving!

Actor Larry Hagman has died in a Dallas hospital at age 81 of complications from cancer. The actor, who famously played J.R. Ewing in "Dallas", had been suffering from throat cancer after having previously suffered cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer.

Hagman became a well-known actor by playing Major Nelson on "I Dream of Jeannie" in the 1960's, but he shot to super stardom by playing the villainous J.R. when "Dallas" premiered on CBS in 1978.

We offer his family our condolences at their time of loss.

Halle Berry's Ex Arrested After Thanksgiving Brawl

While there are many things that Halle Berry is thankful for, a fight between her ex and her fiancé probably isn't one of them.

Her ex, model Gabriel Aubry, had gone to the actress' house to drop off their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, for Thanksgiving when he got into a fight with Berry's fiancé, Olivier Martinez.

Both men suffered injuries in the fight and Aubry was arrested at the scene. A source told People Magazine that Aubry attacked Olivier and Olivier was defending himself.

Either way, we're sure Halle is thankful the fight is over.

Breaking Dawn -- Part 2: Soundtrack Review

It’s safe to say the Twilight Saga films have experienced their ups and downs. Between the possible re-casting of Jacob Black before New Moon and the ACTUAL re-casting of Victoria in Eclipse, We always seemed to be hoping for the films to please us, the fans. One thing that has always remained strong throughout the saga has been its great soundtracks. They’ve introduced us to new artists such as Imperial Mammoth and Sleeping at Last, and reconnected us with other known artists such as Lykke Li, Sia and Paramore. They have always provided diversity and exclusivity to all the films. The Breaking Dawn Part 2 soundtrack doesn’t stay far behind. Being that I’m a slightly depressing person when it comes to music, my favorite soundtrack so far has been New Moon. However, this one is slowly creeping up to the number one spot.

It sets the pace perfectly for the final film in the saga. It’s tranquil for the most part with an abundance of love songs. But then again, that’s exactly what Twilight is—a love story. With songs like “All I Ever Wanted” by cast member Nikki Reed and American Idol Alumni/Nikki’s hubby Paul McDonald and “Bittersweet” by one of my favorite artists Ellie Goulding, there’s definitely something for every Twifan on this album. Twilight soundtracks have always been one to bring us a bit of indie rock and that track in this album is by St. Vincent titled “Antidote”, a more upbeat/badass song than the rest of the soundtrack. Of course there are also A-listers like Green Day, Feist and Passion Pit on the album who no matter what they bring to the table—you know it’ll be as epic as the film’s final scenes (you know what I’m talking about TwiFans).

My favorite from the album, and I hate to point fingers, is absolutely “Heart of Stone” by Iko. This is a hauntingly beautiful song, I almost can’t find words to describe it. It’s simple, classy and touching. It was used perfectly in the film and it is by far the most heartfelt song on the album, in my opinion at least. Of course, Christina Perri has done it again and has brought us another iconic piece for the final film with “A Thousand Years: Part 2” this time featuring Steve Kazee singing the second verse; a simply perfect song to end the saga written by Christina, who is a fan of the books herself! There isn’t a song that could’ve made us feel more nostalgic about the books and movies that have made such an impact on so many lives. We, as fans of the saga, couldn’t ask for more.

If you haven’t already, give the soundtrack a listen and buy it on iTunes. It’s the perfect album to complete your Twilight playlist.

Selena Gomez Visits Hospital Emergency Room

This week has not been easy for Selena Gomez. Amongst all the "are they, aren't they" speculation about her relationship with Justin Bieber, the star found herself at the emergency room of an L.A. hospital with a possible strep throat.

The singer-actress has previously been hospitalized in June 2011 for malnourishment and exhaustion, but after suffering from a sore throat on Sunday, Gomez was tested for strep.

Gomez was spotted out on Sunday night at an American Music Awards after party with Beiber, so that probably wouldn't have helped her throat much either!

The young starlet is reportedly feeling better now and we're glad it was nothing serious!

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Lisa Howard - The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 is out (with rave reviews) and yet we are still sitting down to chat with some of the cast. With dozens of vamps running around this movie, it's no wonder! Lisa Howard, who was the beautiful Siobhan, is the Irish Coven leader who stepped in to help the Cullen's witness to the Volturi. Check out what she had to say about the final installment in this franchise!

Can you tell us briefly how you got into acting?

I got into acting by way of singing. I started taking voice lessons at a young age and performed in show choir, but I really found my true love with musical theater. I loved movie musicals like ANNIE, THE SOUND OF MUSIC and GREASE. So, in high school I tried out and performed in a musical or play every year, getting my first taste of what acting is all about. I ended up going to the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and got a BFA in musical theater. I moved to NYC after that and have been singing and acting ever since.

You play Siobhan in the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, part 2. Can you tell us a bit about your character (for those living under a rock and unfamiliar)?

Siobhan is the leader of the Irish Coven of vampires and is friends with Carlisle Cullen. When asked, she and her coven come to bear witness to the Volturi that the Cullends did not make an immortal child. (Which is a crime punishable by death). She is believe to have her own unique power which is the ability to will the outcome of a situation in her favor.

What was it like coming into this movie in the final film and joining a cast that had been working together for some time?

The cast was quite welcoming to all the new vampires. I think they enjoyed having some new blood around. No pun intended.

Everyone is dying to see the final fight. Rumor has it that it does not follow the book exactly. Anything you can tell us about that?

Well, at this point the movie is out in theaters, but I still wouldn't want to ruin it for someone who hasn't seen the film yet. Yes, there is a sort of twist at the end, but you'll have to see it for yourself to appreciate it!

The final fight scene has a large group of people that took part in filming it, as many different covens and nomads joined the Cullen's to face the Volturi. What was the experience like filming that scene?

We spent a LOT of time standing in that snowy field! However, it was the perfect chance for everyone to bond. I made some great new friends! Also, it was really cool to see that army of Volturi Vampires come marking toward us. Very creepy!

Do you think the final film does justice to the end of this series that the fans love so much?

Most definitely! I think Bill Condon did an amazing job with this film.

Have you seen the movie? If so, what is your opinion?

Yes, I've seen it twice now and I LOVE it.

Out of this entire saga, do you have a favorite movie or scene?

I, of course, love Breaking Dawn, part 2, but I also have a special connection to the first Twilight film that introduced us to this wonderful world.

We have to ask! Team Edward or Team Jacob?

I think I have to say Team Edward. There's just something about vampires. :-)

Aside from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, part do, do you have anything else you are working on that fans should be on the lookout for?

I'm planning on doing some concerts in the new year. You can check out my website www.lisahowardnyc.com for details on those. I also have another project in the works, it's a show called IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, directed by David Hyde Pierce and starring myself, Tyne Daly, Harriett Harris, Richard Klein, and Edwart Hibbert. We hope to open on Broadway next fall!

Where can fans find you online? Twitter? Facebook?

Yes, you can follow me on Twitter @lisahowardnyc.
I also have a facebook fan page under Lisa Howard or you can visit my website www.lisahowardnyc.com

A HUGE thanks to Lisa Howard for joining us! Check her out in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 as Siobhan... in theaters NOW!
